You are right both are really good. But I prefer Tap, although it is an entirely American production it is just so British in its humour, also the whole thing reeks of near truth.
I am 32 and I first saw "Tap" as a fourteen year old, definitely up there in the top five all time films for me. I have it on DVD and force anyone that says they have not seen it to watch it.
First time i saw spinal tap i hated it, didnt get it at all. Got persauded to give it another go and its now one of my favourite films, seen it more times than i can remember and i swear it gets funnier every time.
One of my top three movies of all time...Dan I'm simply stunned at your comments....you can't be serious....it has nothing to do with age by the way....funny is funny.
I first saw this film at 17 odd and I instantly knew it was special. Its so good you can watch it again and again and still pick up on jokes that you hadn't noticed before. The best bit is that is it almost completely improvised comedy - the solid gold quotes from this movie are too numerous to mention........
...at random "the crowd were still booing him when we were on"
Having worked in the music business, its not so far from fiction than you would imagine!
Ozzy Osbourne on watching "Spinal Tap" thought it was a documentary about a real band. I guess all the cliches that the film sends up have happened to him.
Comments
"What's wrong with being sexy?"
Bad News isn't fit to lick the lovepump of the Tap.
absolutley brilliant film....... a million quotes
what? did it go over your head Dan???
You didn't like Spinal Tap??
As I said I watched the 1st 10mins, didnt even raise a smile once, it started to annoy me, so I turned it off.
Well it's one of my top 3 favourite films and definately the funniest comedy film ever made.
Each to their own...
Now that's more like it. Chin-chin.
(whoops)
"Lick my Love Pump"
Just in time to see "Stonehenge" too.
"No, we're not facking gonna do Stonehenge tomorrow!"
"Too much f*cking perspective"

It's apparently a "real-life" Spinal Tap!
Trailer
It starts off kind of as a comedy but by the end, it's more like a feel good movie - but strange, as it's real life.
Watched it with the Director in his office in LA - he's the guy who got Ginger Spice up the duff, btw ...
Each to their own I guess.
Personally I think it's the funniest film ever made.
