Just can't stand Mickelson. If anyone's ever seen the film Tin Cup (crap film, btw) - Mickelson reminds me so much of Don Johnson's character it's unreal. I'm sure he was modelled on him. All that grinning 'aw shucks' routine makes me ill. He's the golf equivalent of a trolley dolley. Fuck him and his 'for the fans' routine. And just hating Tiger Woods isn't enough to make him ok in my book - Woods is such a c*** that anyone who doesn't hate him is seriously disturbed.

Can't warm to Mickelson since the 'Daddy won, daddy won!' display a few years back

I think someone will come right out of the pack, Davis Love or Phil Mickleson.
Yeah - Mickelson worries me. Can't stand the prick, and he is perfectly placed to make a run at it
Bit harsh Leroy. Mickleson makes more effort with the galleries than most of the players out there. Had loads of personal issues and carried on playing with a smile on his face. Respect the bloke greatly.
Yep.And the fact he f****** hates Tiger Woods makes him alright with me.
Also hit one of the best golf shots I have ever seen a few years back at the Masters.

its Clarke's for sure now - Mickleson is 4 back & Dustin Johnson is likely to be the same having put his second on 14 out of bounds !!

No sign of Clarke bottling it. Played steady all afternoon and only 4 to go.

I hope Darren can do it.    He's moved back home, his kids are back in Ireland, he's due to get married.   Nothing can make up for the loss of his wife, but not many deserve it more.

well clarkes held it together to be fair to him. e/w on johnson at 40/1 and fowler as 66/1 is still a decent return.

Get in there. Got to be one of the most popular winners ever, surely?

Fantastic win and what a great sportsman - asking the crowd to be silent when players on a different tee were about to play.  And what a success for Northern Ireland - three major winners.

Mickelson often throws in a miss from 3 feet and that halted his charge, which pleased me no end because I can't stand the grinning buffoon.

    Delighted for Clarke.

Great sportsman. Great golfer.  Future Ryder Cup captain. Well done Darren.

Well I would rather have Mickelson than that twonker Woods.  I noticed Mickelson and Clarke had a quiet chat waiting for the presentation and Clarke put his arm around Mickelson's shoulder.  Both been through a lot with wives suffering from cancer (and Clarke lost his) whereas all Woods could do was bonk any tart available and then feel sorry for himself.

So glad Clarke won....and alltough I dont like yanks...I'm glad Phil had a good round....he's ok for an american......better than the rest of them! As said before he has faced the same situation as Darren and both have been exemplorary.  Tiger can do one as far as I'm concerned....never liked him....never will!!

Of the current crop of yanks, I really like Rickie Fowler. Got a personality, and has a bit of aggression about him, but not a massive prick like Anthony Kim. To be able to come over and play links golf at what must be his first attempt at it like he did this week is a superb effort. Dustin Johnson seems OK as well - and you can't help but feel for a man who threw it away as spectacularly as he did last year at Pebble Beach. There's just something about Mickelson that I despise - I can't put my finger on it, but I've never liked him since I first saw him years ago.

Yeah legal, so right.  Mind you I usually feel sorry for myself without a tart in sight. Where did I go wrong!

What is it with Northern Ireland?

Clarke is a great advert for fat geezers who enjoy a shag, a drink and a cigarette
