Leyton Orient have terminated defender Elliot Omozusi's
contract following his conviction last week.

The 22-year-old was jailed for two-and-a-half years on Friday for his part in
trying to take revenge on a witness in a gang-related murder trial.

The ex-England Under-17 international and former Leyton Orient player of the
year appeared 61 times for the O's.

He had previously played for Fulham before moving to Norwich and then
    Charlton on loan.

A statement on the club website said: "Following the recent conviction of
Elliot Omozusi and subsequent prison sentence of 30 months, the club has
reviewed its legal position and has terminated the contract of the defender."

Yes a player brought in on loan when we had no money who once he had match fitness played well and we wanted to sign in the following summer but orient had more money that we did.

Ooh - the Parkinson debate.  This thread could have legs.

I think he'd have played better if the crowd had all been standing, there had been better away support and if there hadn't been a small racist element.

    Also, Charlton is in Kent.

also his performance would have improved if he was constantly booed

But if we hadn't let Curbs go and allowed him to see out his contract then we would never have had Parky as a manager. Probably and discuss.

That was a damned quick 2 and a half year sentence.

Comes as a surprise (that he's straight back at his old club that is, not that he is has been let out early).

Only has to do around 13 months of that sentence

I wonder if his old gang have also taken him back.

He'll probably need to get his street fitness up before getting a start.

Nah. Form is temporary. Lack of class is permanent.

This looks like a case where prison has had a rehabilitative effect .. he had a career to fall back on .. that is what many/most young offenders want .. hope and a decent future
