Nice stuff in the finest traditions of ekky-thump.
I am in Hong Kong where even the South China Morning Post reported the "amazing Huddersfield feat" failing to mention that Charlton were actually 5 points ahead of them in the League.
We will see what an amazing historic team they are on Monday night.
I've have a feeling in my juices that we just might rip them to pieces...
No-one's really denying it's a tremendous feat, but I know if it was us I'd always feel it was tarnished by that awkward little unmentioned defeat, albeit just in a play-off final that rendered the previous points gained all but meaningless. If they go one better this year then good luck to them.
You'll be pleased to know this has made its way onto the Down at the Mac town forum. Its causing quite a stir as some people are taking it seriously and getting all wound up for Monday whereas the sensible one are seeing it as the laugh that it is. I despair sometimes!!
I hear from the Dubious Commitee that they have a plan in place, just in case on the way home on Monday they have to change their name to Shuddersfelt !
What about our own unbeaten run in the FA Cup from 9 Jan 1939 beaten by Cardiff City and unbeaten in the cup until 1948 by Manchester United on 9 February - OVER 9 YEARS!!!
(We do not of course count the 1946 final as this was a draw in normal time)
Huddersfield go marching on. Uddersfield's record (that is not quite a record) remains intact even after a dissapointing result at the Valley tonight that according to the BBC just does not count. A new rule confirmed tonight by Steve Claridge and the other fella Manish Who from the Football League "without Charlton Athletic" Show clearly states that games on Sky played on a Monday night DOES NOT count. Claridge speaking from home after the result was adament, "I had just stepped out of a rather scrumptuous scented foam bath and slipped into my Millwall pyjamas, when my kabana boy Joachim gave me the news of Uddersfields record breaking feat" he continued, " I am elated and cannot wait to get back into the studio and totally ignore Charlton Athletic,".

Superb piece; deserves a wider forum.

Cheers for the nice comments guys, much appreciated.

Made me laugh Dan.....good work.
American Samoa's football team - ranked as the
worst international team in the world - has won a game for the first
time in its history.
The US protectorate managed a 2-1 victory over Tonga after 30 straight defeats in almost two decades.
In 2001 American Samoa lost 31-0 to Australia - the heaviest defeat in international football history.
American Samoa are joint bottom of world governing body Fifa's international rankings.

That was obviously only a half time loss then MOG! Can't have a little thing like that stand in the way of the record!!
