When they do the voting will we be allowed about ten votes each? We debated this in the car home on Saturday and I changed my mind about ten times. Going to be very difficult to decide and I'm not sure that one single player should be awarded it.

  • Didn't vote last year because didn't feel anyone deserved last season.

Don't want to choose a player this year because I feel they all deserve it

I think it should be given as a team award, unless someone has a truly outstanding 2nd half to the season, which would clearly make them the winner.

    Serious comment.

I think it's a bit cheesy to say "the team" to be honest.

Let people vote and let's see who wins. It'll be close but you need a POTY.

Anyway - it is only January...

I'm going to use LLs statbank to help me I think - a bit of a cop out maybe but it will reflect the whole season.

Last year it was really a case of 'who has been the least bad.' This year (ok we are only half-way through) there are already at least 6 players who are all very strong candidates. What a fantastic dilemma to have!

Whoever wins it this year will have one of the more special awards of the last few seasons seeing as how any of them could be in contention.

Lets see how many still want to say 'the team' if we finish third.........

My vote is going to Yann the man all day long!

  • Morrison, Wiggins, Solly, Hollands, Jackson, Wright-Phillips, Kermorgant. Each have a decent claim and it only half way !

It's starting to make me feel uneasy that threads are appearing like this one and the "class of 2011.\12" - we've had a great first half of the season and God know's we deserve to enjoy it but we haven't done anything yet

I think the most unassuming should get it (so its a toss up between Yann, Solly, and Wiggins). If its a perfect talisman you are looking for then Jackson's your man. If its for the loudest then Morrison has to get it. But the season is still young and more twists and turns have yet to unfold.

Give it to Semedo or Racon for seeking pastures new and making way for some decent players.

Hollands for me at the moment closely followed by Wiggins and Solly.

    Surely Jackson deserves it?

Agree on those 8. Taylor has been very good. Seems to go unnoticed, but in the good way.

You cant say that. Apparently, it effects the performances of the team.

Kermit for me, Morro/Wiggy a close second

  • 1. Yan
    2. Morro
    3. Solly
    4. Jackson
    5. Wiggins

My Top 5 who I believe are in with a shout.
  • Tough call but right now id give it to Solly closely followed by Kermorgant but really there is a case for atleast 7 or 8 players, what a difference a summer full of transfers can make.
  • The club will have no problem selling tickets for this years event. You cant call it one of seven could win it and which ever player gives.the best performances in the last third of the season will go onto win it
  • Doherty, for managing to stay away from the first team! Seriously though:

    1. Morro
    2. Jackson
    3. Hollands
    4. Kermogant
    5. Wiggins/Solly - equally as good

To be fair, Wiggins and Sollya are better players than I've ranked them, but their importance to the team isn't as much as the four that preceed them, in my eyes.

As much as I have been impressed with a lot of players this season and frankly they look like they deserve the award but I think Jackson edges this as he was good for us last season and this season he has been outstanding, as well as our captain so logically he should get player of the year this season.

Tickets for the event , organised by the Fans' Forum will go on sale at the beginning of Feb. Expecting a sell out this year so bag your tickets early , especially if you'd like a player at your table.

You heard it here first !

My shortlist is anything but, but I think I'd have to give it to Solly based on the fact he's taken everyone by surprise. I've always liked him for his work ethic, in fact the highlight of the last (admittedly horrific) season for me was Solly getting his goal at Orient. He seemed to love playing for Charlton and I wanted him to do well, but if anyone had predicted he'd been this good you would have been told to take the rose-tinted specs off. We expected the quality from Jacko and BWP, and Morrison, Kermorgant, Hollands and Wiggy have exceeded expectations, but they still came in with high expectations. Not to take away from their performances as they've been outstanding, but all summer we heard Solly isn't good/tall/wide/etc enough, some even said they'd rather give Francis another go, and now I don't think there's a single person on here who doesn't rate him. Probably the best RB in the league. Based on coming out of the blocks like that he's my vote for the foreseeable

    THIS, MOST DEFINITELY!
