As an interesting aside I read on a Coventry message board that Dean Kiely was their Keeper against us in that final ,he would have been 16 so its possible ,could anyone verfy it ?

No it was not Deano. Paul Bostock or someone like that. Lad played in goal for Kettering for a few seasons.

Yes. Ronnie Mauge was nasty and unpleasant individual. Well known around Hackney.

I didn't realise that Pitcher, Minto & Bacon were in that team. I think Gordon Watson was sub.

  • Went to Spurs game at the Valley in the FA youth cup about 15 years ago. Took a Spurs mate and we lost. One of our players really impressed him that night. He was by far the best player on either side. He kept on asking how he doing until he broke into the first team..........Kevin Lisbie.

Shame I can't make it tonight.

Watched out u18s in the NextGen tournament against Liverpool a few weeks back and there's a few promising youngsters coming through.

Watch out for Coubaily, the 17yo lad from Ivory Coast up front who's been touted as the next Drogba. Has already been in the full IC squad for a number of friendlies.

The FC podcast team have been advertising the fixture as a meet up for the last couple of weeks. The Ultra's hash tag was meant to be tongue in cheek as far as we're aware

Just got back from a meeting in Lee.

On the way there saw a young man in Charlton tracksuit and with kit bag waiting for a bus in Downham (opposite the Green Man pub that is now finally being pulled down/done up)

I assume it was one of our U18 squad on his way to the Valley. Glamorous life, eh!
