    I've a feeling Steve Jones's Wembley medal went for £3.5k or thereabouts. I think this will go for a lot more.

    oh no sorry, yeh i think the medals will go for around £5k maybe each if not more, but i suspect the play off shirt and the ball and boots could all get close to £1k?

    interesting question for syem, if clive gets a reasonable offer from the club for his medals, but a slightly higher one from an independent buyer, which would he choose do you think? the one that would mean more money to him, or the offer with more sentiment and to preserve the history of his medals?

    website says highest bidder. All he could do is agree a figure with the Club and withdraw those items from the sale I suppose.

    Somebody mentioned Clive became a full-time gambler post-football. I hadn't heard this before. Is this substantiated?

    Addick90. Interesting question. Clive knows the importance of these items to the club and the fans. If the club make a sizeable bid, I am sure Clive will look at that and if he accepts, we would need to close the auction on those items.

    Presumably once they have been put up for auction to the highest bidder he can't sell them for less to someone else. I suspect that he, also, can't sell them for more once the auction has finished. It would make a mockery of it he did.

    I know it wouldn't necesarilly (sp) work from the clubs or his point of view but a big shame he couldn't have remained at the club but obviously wanted to return 'home'.

    Hopefully, They get him on the pitch for the Stevenage game.

    It would also be illegal - this sale constitutes a contract, if you are the wining bidder in a highest bid wins auction and provided you have met any terms and conditions such exceeding the reserve bid etc then the item is legally yours.

    All very sad.

    Just wondering why it's not being done through an established auction house like Ebay? Not suggesting anything dodgy is going on but you can't for example state the highest bid is higher than it really is on that system, whereas you can be 'elementary' with the truth on your own site. It may leave the whole thing open to suspicion.

    Hope Clive gets what he wants/needs for them though, and hopefully they don't disappear never to be seen again. He's the personification of the word legend

    Yes but I don't know the exact reasons why it was not put on eBay.
