It wasn't that long ago that Pietersen flayed the Aussies, but he is too inconsistent, and so is Bell. Strauss is a good captain, but no longer a test class opener. Cook and Trott are two of the World's best. We've had this debate before, but there aren't many people lining up to take over. I don't think the likes of Bopara, Morgan and Patel are test standard. Perhaps we should raid South Africa again? That Amla seems good.
