  • Fair enough. I just went through the first three pages of Google and all I found was the American.
  • I think numerous and I mean thousands, these are the same toss pots who sang he can shag who he wants

I think if it happend then Sheffield utd will be dragged through the mire as a club with decent historical ties to its community and is a family oriented club

    Haven't read all of that, but it looks a bit more reasonable than I was expecting - primarily seems to be his sister trying to get/help a retrial for her brother - here's a portion of what she has posted at the outset;

"On 20 April 2012 Ched Evans was wrongly convicted of rape.
Ched’s conviction was a result of the Jury’s failure to apply the Judge’s directions correctly.
The Jury were directed to consider whether the alleged victim was “too drunk to consent” to intercourse with first, Clayton MacDonald and then, Ched Evans.
The Jury found the alleged victim was not “too drunk to consent” to intercourse with Clayton MacDonald but was with Ched Evans. However, given the short timescale between the alleged victim engaging in intercourse with each man her state of intoxication did not change.
Had the Jury correctly followed the Judge’s directions, these conclusions would be illogical. The basis for their decision must have been the sensationalised press coverage of Ched Evans prior to and during the trial. Accordingly, the Jury allowed immoral but not criminal behaviour to influence their decision.
The Jury therefore misapplied the Judge’s directions and there are grounds for an immediate retrial."

...But to be honest that will be one shit hot prison football team, maybe mean machine 2 is on the cards
Evans wont be playing any football. Footballers don't usually get to play for prison teams; the risks of them having an accident and ending their career are just to high. Rapists don't ever get to play football in prison, the chances of them having a career ending "accident" run at almost being a complete certainty.

Just a quick look on twitter reveals some absolutely abhorrent people out there

Lots of momentum for this justice for ched too

Staggering the level of grasping at straws and the fact the poor girl has been named is shocking - but not as bad as some of the comments about her.
Suspect some people will be in a whole load of crap as a result of their tweets
  • I bloody hope they all get dragged down the nick. shocking behaviour by idiots who think they are untouchable behind a computer

Surely he would not want to play football in prison, everyone would want to break his legs.

Think he will appeal and if (big if), there is mileage in the judge's wrong direction claim, he has a good chance of succeeding. Personally think justice has been done, but am very surprised only one of them was convicted.

That 9th and 35th minute clapping thing for CE could be one of the most stomach churning things a set of fans could do if it happens.

Is 35 to represent the 3rd and 5th letters of the alphabet? Or is that his disks?

Absolutely disgusting. Dislike Wednesday because of the way Megson (lol) and their fans generally conduct themselves but would rather them win than a team that hold a rapist dear to their hearts.

To be fair we shouldn't judge the club on a minority of it's fans views

Listen out for the applause at their next game then we will see....
Still I disregard what you say because I can tell you are trolling on this topic. Dunno why though you seem to be a genuine poster in most of your other posts.

I am not trolling on any topic, just different views that is the whole point of a forum. I would hate are club to be viewed in a certain way because of the few knob heads who support it. Justice has been done

Yeah sure. I'm pretty sure that the whole "Ched Evans might be allowed out on Saturdays to play football as long as he is back by early evening" is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard.

If you were to say. "Ched Evans is a disgusting person for what he did but he is also a fantastic striker" I would accept that, but you have generally had a pretty ridiculous and disgusting attitude to the whole case.

That is your view mine is different, I won't even attempt to say mine as it will get shot down pretty quickly so will leave it at that. Agree to disagree

Probably because your opinion isn't far off "he's a rapist.... BUT... He's a good footballer so... Cant' we just let him play?"

Maybe you should just suggest that her majesty's prison service start their own football team?
That would actually be interesting haha.

This whole sordid affair is sickening. Irrespective of the arguments about whether the victim was drunk, whether she agreed to have sex with either or both of them, whether there was a difference in her tate of intoxication between the first act and the second and everything else 'technical' about the case is the fact that the original c*** thought it appropriate to ring his mate up in the middle of having his way with the victim and ask him to pop round for a go as well. The second c*** then rocked up and thought it equally appropriate to do just that. WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THE WORLD? How can ANYONE consider that is REMOTELY acceptable behaviour?

Still, since I heard my 13 year old nephew say a few weeks back that he had 'raped' his 10 year old brother at playstation football, then proceeded to call him 'gay' when he complained about something not fifteen minutes later, it's hardly surprising.

To quote the inimitable Rodney Rude - The world's a fucked place.

Sheffield United Football Club are now teetering on a knifes edge with this. If they let a `Justice' campaign for a convicted rapist take hold it would damage the club for many years to come. Such a tag would be devastating, on all levels. Who'd invest in a `rapist club'?

Liverpool stepped back from the brink when in REAL danger from the Suarez/Racism saga. Their board finally coming to their senses after 3 months of swimming against the tide.

Will be interesting to see if Sheffield United's board finally show some f****** morals regarding this disgusting situation....something that they haven't done so far.
  • I just clicked on that facebook link to find that two extremely well educated girl mates who I didn't even know like football (and aren't even from Sheffield) like it. Shocked

Whether he raped her or not, it's not our place as the general public to be judge, jury and executioner based on a few stories we've read in the media. Social media is great in a number of ways, but crusades like this are not one of them.

Anyway, club loyalties aside, if he wants to appeal, its merits will be judged by the appropriate people, who will have all the information to hand. A social media campaign has nothing to do with it

i know if i was a young lad out on the pull or on a lads holiday looking for some skirt i'd be a bit weary of the situation i got myself into after this

who knows what really happened but ched and the girl and they were both out of it .....

just hope justice has been done

it's clearly not as cut and dried as some would make out, i don't see how it can be
