The Sex Pistols were Malcolm McClaren's brainchild, all of it persona, music everything.

Might have been his creation, but the brainchild for the persona, music everything.. NOT

Sorry folks if I am in a minority of one here so be it. The reason his comments went over the heads of the audience and the panel is that he talks 90% bollocks. The guy is a complete phony always has been. The Sex Pistols were Malcolm McClaren's brainchild, all of it persona, music everything. Never Mind the Bollocks was a great album I won't argue about that.

So he has affected this B- Movie pyscho stare but we all know he's not half as tasty as he would like us to think and all the artists he slagged off such as Led Zeppelin and The Who have gone on to achieve iconic status their influence there for all the hear and what has Lydon done? Appeared on "I'm a celebrity" where he made a dick of himself and advertises Anchor Butter......rock and roll eh John? Like I said a phoney.

so Headguard on and gumshield in and await the furore
To be fair to Lydon, 'Metal Box' by PIL is a fantastic record as well and McLaren was nothing to do with it

Its only music Dave, nothing more nothing less, most acts are 'phoney' hence the word 'acts', I know of a world famous guitar player in a flower and rifle band who turns up on stage with a bottle of Jack Daniels and smoking a fag, off stage he doesn't drink and smoke. Lydon called for anarchy when he was 19, the only reason Anarchy in the UK was called this was because when we was scribbling some lyrics anarchist was the only word he could come up with that rhymed with anti-christ. I am still surprised that Joe Public trot out the 'sell out' phrase, because someone has a few hit records in a rock n roll band and are then given the opportunity to make easy money advertising. Its an act, thats all, its a bit like assuming Eastenders is a documentary.

Bollox....one of the nicest guys in the Rock business who put's a great deal of money and time back into it. An extroverted and complex character for sure but a very deep thinker too.....and nobodys fool.
    How little you know OneLung.

Don't get me wrong Greenie I realise it's only music and it is an act the bloke just irritates the hell out of me. Purely personal and I am not saying I am right.

As for Pete Townshend I did call him a tit head SoundsAs but I also think he is the most underrrated and brilliant guitarists EVER i would love to be able to play like that

In classic Rock n' Roll 'Superstar' fashion he has acted like a tit head at times (and how!)......he was for many a year heavily into all sorts of 'powders and lotions of exotic proportions' and no doubt would rub people up the wrong way from time to time.
He is however, underneath it all, a really nice sentimental fella and is very loyal to his true friends and aquantances, most of whom go back many a year.......... to happier times it must be said.

I'm one The Who's biggest fans but he can be a bit of a tit at times. Incidently, I saw a band called Who's who at the beaverwood in Chislehurst last night. Great band but the drummer completely stole the show. Had all the mannerisms and drumming style (beat perfect too) of Keith Moon, even looked and sounded a fair bit like him.

Mensch is a looker and that can get you a long way in this world -which is sort of proven when she opens her mouth.

I don't think Johnny Rotton ever supported banking anarchy either

Is this the book he was researching when he got arrested for downloading child porn?

It's kind of important when you're judging his character, don't you think?

I thought John Lydon was dreadful. Most of what he said was utter rubbish. He said things he knew would be controversial, just for the attention.

Agreed Stu, I've got Townsend in the same camp as Glitter and jackson. And for this reason he should just disappear from public life.

Though he was a complete self important prick on Thursday, with nothing worthwhile to add to the programme.

Watched it last night, thought he was about right on the banking situation, some of the other topics he was a bit way off the mark but its just the way he puts his argument across and tries to talk to people as if they are lesser than him that makes me dislike him so much.

Just watched it on BBC I player . Although what Lydon had to say made sense ( not the drugs bit) but still made an arse of himself .
    Good entertainment though.
