    Good comments people,

In this day and age we need a comms strategy at the outset even if its minimal content wise for now - I agree it is difficult to do this before we have actual been set up. However we must be inclusive and be seen to be regardless of the difficulty.

We should discuss inclusion and our comms strategy further in the next meeting, but I will set up a basic holding page for the Trust on the interweb shortly. We already have Twitter, and email, and a new facebook page on the way.

@Fanny Fanackapan if you could please contact the club and ask if they would be willing to publicise our our existence in the matchday programme? (wording to follow if agreed) I think leafleting at this stage is not practical.

Our intention is to work with the club where at all possible, a mention if worded well would be fine I think. Don't forget trusts like Swanseas are in the priveleged situation of owning shares in the club.

Once we are setup we can reboot/publicise further with elections and an AGM. This and generating good aims and objectives that the fans can unite behind will make us inclusive and more so, in my view.

    BR

I have no doubt you guys will sort out the aims and objectives in due course.
However, CAST will only flourish and prosper with the support (albeit tacit) of the club and a truly effective comms strategy.
You will only get one chance to gain the support of supporters, club, press and industry. So getting the comms right from the outset is vital. Sell it right and it will work - get it wrong and it is a slow death.
If you already have a specialist, great, if not I could be of some help. But because of my location, meetings outside match days are a problem.
If you want to contact me for input and ideas you are very welcome.

I'm happy too forward the question as a FF member if you let me have the relevant wording. No problem at all.

Razil and co - you certainly have my full support, though I cannot attend meetings. Agree very much that comms are vital - but you also need to consider what exactly you are asking people to do - especially if it includes paying for membership. Some will be able to afford more than others, so having mechanics for this would be important. Perhaps consider monthly direct debit rather than one-off payments, as this keeps people committed and provides more predictable income - can be from as little as £2/ month, as some charities have successfully used for fundraising. And what exactly do people get in return for joining? Agree very much with m2 that you have one chance to get it right. As and when you get to this stage/ these kind of decisions, fell free to contact me if I can provide any input/ experience.

Wishing you all the best in the meantime.

I'm interested in coming along. Will I have to pay £2 to get in like I'd have to on a Saturday? Is the Con club CIU affiliated?

Can I just add my best wishes again to those of you going tomorrow.
Like last time, I'm unable to make it I'm afraid, but genuinely keen to be involved once I'm back from my hols.

All the best, one and all.
