Surely they should be forwarding you on to a specialist at your local docs where you should go on a list.
I have one kidney myself, hence i have to eat and drink healthily.
Yeah, of coarse that has happened and I have been seeing a specialist for the last 5 years. But, it's now come to the point where I've been told I need a new one and thought I'd ask if anyone on here had any expeariances of having the op etc.
There is a story, no doubt an urban myth, that you can have a kidney removed after too many beers in Bangkok, so I assume there must be some spare over there.
On a serious note, that would be the place I would go to have the operation, if you have relevant insurance or cash. Here are the details of a place I have used a few times with great results. They have an online enquiry facility in English. Post op care is second to none, and when you feel better there is plenty to raise the spirits just a few blocks away. http://www.bumrungrad.com/en/nephrology-kidney/kidney-transplantation
