    Well done Gemma.

If her old really is an addick, get her on the pitch at half time at The Valley (she could chuck @BDL into the west stand)
  • Great idea, AFKA

Wondering whether Adam G ( my NEIGHBOUR ! ) could be persuaded to don the red shirt and do likewise ...

Adam G used to play for Dagenham and Redbridge, so not sure what he thinks of us Addicks. Could be a pal of Danny Green's?

great silver from Gemma Gibbons in a proper sport, she was unlucky to have had such a hard semi final compared to the American. Was it her uncle or someone who came on here for a while before the internet generals w....d themselves silly over his spelling?.

    I thought she was lovely....

....but still scared the life out of me. Imagine coming home drunk to her in a mood.

    from the BBC website:

Realising she had won and bursting into tears as she knelt on the matt, Gemma Gibbons looked to the sky and whispered: "I love you, mum." It was her mother Jeanette who first took her to a judo class when she was six-years-old. She passed away in 2004 from leukaemia.

Just seen this on tv, bloodyhell! Not many dry eyes in this house I can tell you.

Just watched the highlights again and as AFKA said, if her dad is CAFC then hopefully the club will invite her to do a lap of honour at The Valley. Would be great to give one of our own a cheer.

Big congrats to Gemma great achievement but like many I have no clue whats going on in Judo. One of our best mates at school was at the time the youngets black belt Judo player in Europe, he was 15, so we went to support him at Crystal Palace but it just looked like a load a people trying to undress one another roughly, mind you I wouldn't have told him that he was built like a brick shit house!
