    i hope no-one boos him just because he underperformed for us, young players are often inconsistent and if we had kept with him we would of had a quality player on our hands

    Thought he was ok but Pardew killed us playing such a weak midfield. At times we had 4 off these playing at one time Ambrose, Zheng, Thomas, Sam, Reid and Hollands. No bite at all.

    Was it not Darren that went to see Richard Murray to wave a clause in his contract that if he played another couple of games he automatically got a new contract and wage rise? He did this so that he could play as he knew we were skint.

    He wasn't a winger though, by far his best position was as an attacking central midfielder, his goalscoring record for Palace shows this.

    He plays for Birmingham now mate.

    Agree he was talented but frustratingly inconsistent - if he had sorted that out then I doubt he'd be lining up in the Championship on Saturday.

    Hope we don't get all the usual nonsense songs about his sexuality on Saturday but I doubt it.

    Good player who Warnock got the best out of. Always thought he played best in the centre, tended to be a player that needed to be involved a lot or vanished, Think he had am undiagnosed hip problem for two years (then it was diagnosed). Best moment was in Curbs last match, Ambrose waiting for the ball to be thrown at him - Curbs "You wn't get the ball if you dont fxxxing move"

    I was a fan of Ambrose ever since he came from the Ipswich youth system and into their first team about ten years ago. Genuinely thought he was going to be an England player one day.

    got a mean right foot when he's in the mood. goal against man u last season was possibly the hardest shot of the decade.

    Good points and yes he did offer to forgo an appearances bonus so he could play.
