    Elvis 56
Possibly his best recording ever, with the possible exception of The Sun Sessions.
    What a voice.

    What a voice.

His voice matured, try and listen to some of his gospel recordings, the only music he ever won a Grammy award for.

    Enough said.

Yes enough said by Ray Peterson eleven years before Elvis - a song written by Baker Knight. Did Elvis write any of own material? I'm beginning to wonder whether he was just the Rick Astley of his era.
Best you do some research then.
Genuinely interested in this chaps, not being argumentative, but how many of his songs did he write?

Must admit I've not liked any of his songs apart from Suspicious Minds but know plenty of people who love his stuff. Absolutely no doubting he was a wonderful entertainer, just not my cup of tea musically.
He didnt write any, although he did help write some written by band members, he also got full production rights on changes to lyrics etc.

I have full respect for lots of entertainers, Michael Jackson, Elton John, Springsteen etc, just wouldnt buy their stuff, some of the comments on here are pure ignorance, and some people need to educate themselves on how many artists Elvis influenced and his impact on the music world, as IMO the greatest entertainer that ever lived, whether they like him personally or not is a matter of choice.

I was not referring to the writing, but the Rick Astley bit. Elvis created a whole style of his own with no help from anyone else, along with Scotty Moore, Bill Black, D.J. Fontana and Sam Phillips he created a new, unique sound.
