After all these years, this still sends chills down my spine and brings back soooooooo many memories.

Introduced by Brian Jones, This opening track introduces Hendrix to his homeland, and after playing one of Dylan songs, better than his bobness ends it off with Wild thing. Remember seeing the Charlatans at the Under World in Camden. It was at the height of their success and a warm up gig for some festival. The opened with "The Only One I Know" and the place erupted.

Remember a time I saw the Selecter and they opened with 'Three Minute Hero'. Bloke in front of me got a bit excited, skanked too hard and smacked me in the face with the back of his head.

Whenever Metallica open with Battery it's always special. Faith No More opened with 'From Out Of Nowhere' back in the day - that was awesome too. Sepultura used to open with 'Arise', which was always a huge way to kick off a show. Saw Deftones at the ULU a couple of years ago and they started with Rocket Skates, which was insane - but the best opening to a show I have ever seen was from a band called Will Haven (funnily enough, supporting the Deftones). They opened for them at the Astoria back in about '98 with a song called 'I've Seen My Fate' - and you have never seen a place get so absolutely fucking destroyed.

Otis Redding, imo, is the greatest singer who ever lived. So envious of you mate, unfortunately he died before I was born so never got the chance to see him live.

ID - Kasabian.

Was their last gig before the launch of their 1st album back in 2004. Talk had been growing quickly of them being huge. I'd been following them for a while and went to the Scala in Kings Cross with 3 mates and no tickets.

Face value was £8. Touts wanted £50! I approached the doorman and asked how much to let me and my 3 mate's in. He said £25 each. Done.

We got in and and I D was just starting. The rest of the gig was just insane but that first track just set up the night.

Awesome memories.
