Charge to use Blackwall Tunnel

The bridge should have been built before the Silvertown tunnel.

The main reason it didn't get built was that there were no acceptable road connections for it south of the river.

Went through the Blackwall Tunnel northbound last Wednesday morning at 0930. No queues on the approach road.

There’s dual carriageway from Thamesmead all along the river to Erith.

There is a clear line of derelict land they had earmarked for it from the the edge of the river to the roundabout next to HMP Belmarsh.
