Working at a law firm with a big sports practice, I can tell you that a lot of them have been 'working' from home this week, but don't worry, the secretaries are in and doing all the work!

Worked nights from home for 6 years.
With the office shut Saves security, electricity, travel and more importantly a few hours kip I wouldn't get travelling.
I do everything on my laptop I can do on my office PC.

The real fact is most office jobs can be done from home, whilst most 'hands on' jobs cannot be done from home.
Loads of crashes in Kent this morning, people just see a seemingly clear road and think they can drive as normal. There is a lot of black ice around.
I drove to work yesterday morning whilst it was snowing and quite treacherous. I drove quite slowly but still had idiots on my bumper and passing me at speed, many without lights.

There’s no way I can do my work from home. I’m pretty certain Mrs AUN wouldn’t fancy having Roger the Raper, Billy the Blagger, Nigel the Nonce and Tariq the Terrorist loitering in our kitchen.

This^ A lot of people don't have sufficient experience of how to drive in the current conditions or how to steer out of a skid because we are encountering a longer, more severe cold snap than usual.
Instead of the BBC wasting license payers money on live reporting from train passengers stranded in the west country or stranded drivers drinking snow on the M62, how about a short programme during main news bulletins on how to adopt your driving techniques in this weather. Road vehicles are killing machines even more so if you don't know how to control them in adverse weather, people's stories of inconvenience on a delayed train pale into complete insignificance.
Even after having held a full driving license for 50 years I don't profess to be an expert in snow and ice on the road. Rant over.

Nearly got hit on a zebra crossing. Driver apologised said she couldn't stop then car behind her swerved to miss hers and hit the bollards. Could've gone a different way, think I'll stay indoors now...
-13 yesterday here with wind chill.Coldest day Ever for March. last night an ice storm ---this morning cars all over the roads ,pavements almost unwalkable---and now its snow/hail/ice. The roads ,pavements look fine untill you step on them.

Don't make a fuss and say 'I am gonna work from home today', do it every day and free up the trains / tubes / buses.
