Well I know its not me personally you are having a go at so don't worry...
It was only I noticed a lot of comments about our antics that day which made me think we must have been much worse than usual with certain players playing/not playing (less british players in the team?)
Anyway its sort of passed and I'd rather try to play fairly and win by playing good football which we can.
Not the same as West Ham. West Ham played 2 players who were wholly or partially owned by a third party.
Watford appear to have sold a player with some payments to be received at a later date. Watford appear to have then accepted an advance payment (presumably for a lesser amount) from a third party instead of waiting for the later payments from the buyer (the third party would then receive the later payments from the buyer in due course). My understanding is that we have also done this on occasion.
Watford appear to have failed to register deals with the third party & appear to have received money that should have gone to the third party. It could be argued that Watford then had extra money that they would not have otherwise had and therefore gained an unfair advantage on competitors, however any advantage would be short term as registered or not, the debt still stood and would have to be paid back in due course. The sum concerned is not huge in football terms and could probably of been borrowed from somewhere had Watford wanted extra money. Therefore, I would be of the opinion that they did not really gain an advantage on competitors and a points deduction would be unfair on them.
The FL rules in question appear fair and should be adhered to, accordingly preventing the individuals who bypassed the rules from being involved in football would seem reasonable, as would a fine for Watford (albeit not at the level of the West Ham fine).
Do you get a lot of stick on the "golden boys" forum for your views. Nice to see you on here and giving a view from the other side of the fence. GIVE THIS MAN A PINT

Not really...no-one knows or probably is that bothered.
Depending on which site you go on there aren't many posters and a few did agree with your views on that game.
I agree that Watford are getting some unfair stick on here, sure Forestierre and Neuton were infuriating but that was it in their side, there are a lot of clubs that I would like to see suffer before Watford and Super_horns comes over like most Watford fans I have met as a reasonable sort.
I was severely vexed with the two above's antics after the game on NYD and had a pop at a Watford fan about it as I got in my car, my son said "he was only being friendly Dad" I did over react somewhat...hope they dont get a points reduction and hope Zola wakes up to a couple of problems within his side, also hope they finish above Palace and Millwall.
What seriously did my head in when they came to the valley was Zola coming out with that bullsh!t excuse about Forestieri wearing the wrong boots. Did he have the wrong boots on on NYD then... Month(s) later?
Their fans also seemed to have some weird delusions about being MASSIVE like Sheff Weds, but not so extreme. For that reason alone a wake up call would be nice.
However, I don't think I'd like to see them fined 5 odd million; as that could potentially cripple them. Points deduction? Not so harsh perhaps.
I did read a few members on one of their forums after NYD say he was fed up with the game they play; they are fans like us. We all argue about things; Stephens not stepping up this season, BWP being lazy, JJ being too slow, Kermo being unfit, Wilson being rubbish when he started, Wagstaff vs Green...
Naturally I expect their fans can be the same, some of them won't mind the antics as their doing well, some of them will hate it and some are going to be blind to it.
As a fan of an opposition side I just thought they were pissing over the idea of "sportsmanship" and showing quite an ugly and pathetic side of the game. Your opinions may vary though!
Good on SH for coming on here and giving a level headed, mature and reasoned argument though! It's always nice to hear things from the other side!
Don't think that it's just the diving. There were a few "reducer" type tackles flying in, with the players then meekly accepting their talking to from the ref. Seemed utterly cynical. Surprised that people like Zola and the Pozzi have anything to do with such things.

Got to be worth his weight in penalties and direct freekicks for Watford, ISaw.
Let's do some sums ....... around 12 penalties x 5 seasons = 60 goals 20 direct free kicks, of which 10 are converted x 5 seasons = 50 goals 10 goals he scores himself in open play x 5 seasons = 50 goals
Nice little goal tally for Watford, and should translate into a healthy points total in each of those 5 seasons.
But of course, there is the distinct possibility the slimy little cheat is going to get, erm ...... injured, by a defender who may take the law into his own hands.
Zero sympathy. I would be embarrassed to support a team that plays the way they do.
Maybe true regarding cetain players (some of whom did't play on Saturday it has to be said!)
I am sure you wouldn't mind scoring the most goals away from home in the football league playing some good attacking football either..
You come across well mate. Agree, having watched your lot dismantle B.H.A. the game before I was very concerned about playing you. Having said all that, don't know how you can watch games at home if they serve up that kind of stuff every other week and your support is genuinely embarrassing.
Oh and why are you still nosing in on our site ? Thinking about dropping your Golden Boys (cringeworthy statement) for the Addicks ? :-)
Leave him be, Spanish ...... he's just a normal football fan like you or me. He's not up his own arse - so I'm happy to read things from his own perspective.

I know amigo, wasn't sure I was being unduly harsh - actually complimented him !
Controversial point but if he were to become available I'd certainly take Forestieri at Charlton. Yes his diving antics were ridiculous but he looks a class player and at a young age he can still change his ways.
No, but I don't think he was in the same league as that Italian twat. I didn't like his diving though and happily yelled at him to get up and get on with it.

Its much busier on here than our own usually and I look at a few sites for general football chat.
I am not really sure where the Golden boys tag came from but its the modern world I guess.
I guess Zola was trying to make excuses but then as Adkins proved on Saturday even the most fair minded of managers have a blind spot when it comes to their own team.
To give some credit a few did point out we could hardly complain if you did come across as strong and physical given we got promoted under Boothroyd having such a style and players.
It probably depends which age group of fans you talk to...

PS I'd love to see that 'highlights' package mentioned above.
More important that we get Abdi and Vydra I think...not any of these guys will stay 5 and a half years ofcourse!

Isn't that right, Ooh Aah?

That should warrant a points deduction alone!
