I've always felt he was a bit overrated by some of our fans. Never thought he was crap or anything, a decent player but probably lower third of Champ quality than anything else. Not disappointed to see him go but would thank him for his efforts and wish him best of luck.
Yep. My view as well. Seen some decent performances. Some very average performances as well.
A good player but not an outstanding one.
You might get a proper mauling for that.
For the record, I, also, agree with you but I wouldn't have said it on here.
Was very good in League 1, often struggled against pacey players in The Championship (Zaha springs to mind) and never looked the same player after injury. BUT a top professional and appeared to be a really good lad so I wish him all the very best for the future.

He shouldn't do. People are entitled to their opinions and I personally agree with this one too. One of my favourite players in the promotion season but has been a shadow of his former self over the past two years. He looked less confident in his defending and didn't foray into attacking positions anywhere near as much as he used to, either.
Certainly not glad to see him go but with his injury record and undeniable (and prolonged) dip in form, I can understand it.

I keep reading that he wasn't the same after his injury against Palace but that was our fifth Championship game. Is it at all possible that he was just not able to shine as much at the higher level. The injuries clearly affected his progress but I'm not convinced that he ever established himself in the Championship.
I'd be more than happy to be proved wrong but I'm not convinced he will be first choice at Wednesday either.
GL doesn't actually say anything of value in that clip. Just that we have Fox and Berdych (sp). Nothing about their relative strengths and why Rhoys is seen as behind Fox. Can only be his fitness record, because Rhoys is far and away the better player compared to Fox.
I said it at the end of last season that Rhoys would be sold because of his injury record... If we were getting a full season out of him every time then I believe he'd still be here
Nothing against Morgan Fox as he's not the worst Left-Back we've had yet watching the Birmingham Derby with both Wiggins and Morrison at the back for a Birmingham side that are only out of the Play-Offs by a point, going to get the usual "move on" response but with Harriott and Kermorgant @ Reading / Stephens @ Brighton / Holmes-Dennis @ Huddersfield (played Saturday) thats six players "not good enough" for Charlton who are in the top six of the Championship right now!!
I know KM said the other day that we didnt need a Director of Football because she's enjoying doing it herself (I think thats what was quoted so apologises if wrong) but when so many ex-players are making a difference for other clubs challenging for promotion in a higher Division... We really, REALLY didnt need to make large changes when the Belgians came into the club and they could so easily have had a Premier League side on their books with a LOT more money coming in had they done things differently
i.e. Gudmundsson | Vetokele | Bauer all being added to that squad rather than being replacements would have really made us dangerous the following season. Congratulations is all I can say, you reap what you sow!!
Thinking about all those good players that KM et al. considered not good enough makes my blood boil. How I hate this regime and all they have done to destroy our club.
The problem was the Belgians came in when we were in and around the relegation zone... We were in and around the relegation zone because of two things
(1) We were having game after game called off because of pitch issues or because of FA Cup commitments (2) The summer beforehand every club strengthened and improved their squads from the previous summer... We signed Mark Gower / Richard Wood / Simon Church / Marvin Sordell who despite all being good honest pros, were never going to see us improve on 9th because ultimately the money had been withdrawn from the previous regime.
Ultimately they panicked and ever since we've been paying the price... If anything they should have come in and thought, right we're around the relegation zone... We're shipping goals whilst not scoring, lets concentrate on adding to those areas, instead they decided to remove our most dangerous Striker and the fact we survived thanks to Church and Sordell makes a complete mockery of our Strike force ever since.

Even the likes of Makienok though, he's scored TWO less goals for Preston so far this season than he did the whole of last season for Charlton.
Even under the Belgian we've not been signing bad players, the problem is the chemistry etc. isnt there, all we've been doing is going: We need a Defender, he's a Defender he'll do... We need a Striker, he's a Striker he'll do... Its not that simple, you've got to question whether X or Y player will fit into the dressing room, whether they'll compliment their team mates or not.
my eldest (10 years old now) was a mascot for that Chesterfield 3-1 game , he held Dale Stephens hand and it was his first as mascot , i was prolly more excited than him and a little emotional He's been a mascot since but now he has 3 younger brothers who were all due to be mascots ,last season , together but I pulled out not wanting to give these prick owners money . It soooo hurts that these fucktards are fucking up lifetime memories for me and my family and I will never forget and the struggle to reclaim our club will continue.
Rhoys Wiggins and Michael Morrison, both playing for a team in the playoff positions in the championship. both not good enough for Charlton according to Katrien. Another fine example of how good the muppets are in charge.

Thank you Rhoys for your efforts over the past four years and wish you all the best.

“When you have this situation you let him (Wiggins) go.

If memory serves, 5 years ago we played Chesterfield at the Valley in L1, with twice as many people watching.
Great progress by the regime.

P.S.
Charlton Athletic 3-1 Chesterfield (2011|12) ... Attendance: 22,151
Charlton Athletic 1-0 Chesterfield (2016|17) ... Attendance: 10,153
Shows that RELEGATION is not the true reflection on why Season Ticket Sales and MatchDay sales are down!!...
Same Weekend the season before (when we werent running away with the League): Charlton Athletic 1-0 Sheffield Wednesday... Attendance: 17,365

No Spreadsheet will ever show that!!
Hope he's OK.
