  • So what was the score in this game?
  • I spent the evening at Paddington nick
  • We lost 1-0, the football wasn't the primary entertainment though
    Typical

The good days off the pitch were almost always detracted from by a dodgy result on it. The bitter sweet experience of following the Addicks!
  • I had one of the 600 odd official tickets, we were in a small enclosure behind the goal....you could see a lot of red shirts around the ground, but nothing happened until Websters disallowed goal, then it suddenly all went a bit mad all over the place. There was a row in what passed for he main stand which went on for abut 20 minutes, my mate was over there seated with the great and the good, he said it didn't really have much to do with football, it started with a bloke arguing with his wife and turned into a free for all. He didn't say if any of our directors pitched in :-)
  • Here's some pictures of an away game at Derby in early 80s. I took a photo of fans celebrating when Don Mcalister put us one up. We drew one all. Also features a very young @Big William and @Addickted. The crappy picture of the blue car is us overtaking his rust bucket.
  • Wrong way up out of focus... what a life you've led !

  • Rust bucket? Bloody cheek.

MK1 Ford Escort KMM 806K. Ended up with a 1600 Lotus twin cam in it, twin webber 40s, 1600ghia gear box, 3ltr Capri lsd, 2ltr Capri front suspension legs and disc brakes. Went like shit off a shovel.

  • I'd love to have a copy of that picture of me walking down Floyd Road, Dave.

That Capri was only a 1600 but it was quicker than Dennis Rommedahl running away from Roy Keane. Trouble was, the bodywork rusted almost as quickly, I got a few things welded then one year they really tightened up the MOT and that was it. Think that Derby game was 1981-2.

Not sure I have the negative. This was the day when Nicola went in your car and her boyfriend Rob? in ours. You will of course remember the now infamous question I asked him ha ha.
  • Actually Nick you can have it. Let's arrange next time AFC Charlton play.

Another one for you @Addickted. Can't recall where we were off to. Edit Bill reckons your house with the hire car prior to Carlisle 1986.
  • Those ends at the Baseball ground, pwoooar! Gutted that I never went there.
  • Ah the tea-cosy hats! :-)
  • Going back to Lucy & Gemma, Lucy still goes to the odd home game with her young son, we keep in contact, she works match days as a host at Bromley games.
Gemma disappeared, Lucy had no idea where but thinks she married and moved to the USA
