  • An asteroid missed us by a fag paper yesterday so not too phased by this result.

50 points minimum seems miles off.

Or four wins from 15 games
  • narrow defeat away to second placed team in the league - booooooooo, powell out

Powell made no substitutions, played very defensive, and we sat back to defend the 1-0 once Hull went ahead

He brought on Haynes on 67 minutes.....

I don't know how the Board could blame Powell though. They've not exactly splashed the cash this season have they. This is the same team as last year with 1 addition in Fuller.

Agreed Rob but not sure about this Board at all. SCP will become a good manager, I hope here, just do not trust TJ and Co as far as I can throw them.

  • You can pretty much write off getting many points at home so it's not as clear cut as four wins from 14
  • Another game another Hamer cock up

If morro had made 3 mistakes that cost us 3 games out of 4 he would be dropped and yet ben the flapper will be the first name on the sheet on Tuesday

We have a decent keeper on the bench now and it's time he was given a run

Im starting to bore myself now needing to dig the keeper out after every game but then my opinion hasn't changed from last season when I saw him as the weak link

    We move on to tuesday..

The three games at the start of March are huge..Burnley, Peterboro, Huddersfield.

2 wins from those and we will be fine.

Anyone explain why Waggy was dropped? No width, big high ball up field and fight for the scraps? Sorry! But this is not the work of a tactical genius is it! Gonna have to find some luck or form from somewherene,it's not coming from the coaching staff.

I suspect it was to be more difficult to breakdown in midfield, not saying I would agree with it, although my team would have been 4 1 4 1 with the same midfield 4 and DerVitte protecting the back four, that said I would trust anyone elses tactical and formation genius over mine

@ValleyGary Agreed, none of which are easy. lets hope Millwall get Man U in the cup and are distracted
  • Promotion chasing side grinds out a narrow win.

Not going to panic yet. Funny how it only takes a handful of poor results before "we can't see where the points are coming from". Yet it wasn't long ago after a couple of wins we could "sneak into the playoffs".
  • No one expected us to beat Blackpool or Blackburn at their places, so anything can happen, much in the same guise that we lost points in the last few games. Just need these 'anything can happen' moments to go our way for the first time in 5 games...

  • I'm not expecting anything away at Leicester so the back to back home games against Forest and Burnley are taking on more importance now.
  • When will people wake up and realise we are in a serious relegation battle?
Maybe when 1 point in 12 becomes 1 point in 15 on Tuesday...
But of course if you say as much it means you want Powell out, right?
Wrong. I want us to rediscover the knack for winning some football matches.
Confidence must be low right now, whatever anyone might say.
Minimum 4 points needed from the 2 home games after Leicester.
  • Was Waggy on the bench ?
  • I've always maintained bottom half of the table. Never mentioned play offs. I'm not asking for Powell to be sacked but I feel we will go down. Just my opinion. We will get a handful of points at home, and have some extra tough away games. Not easy

Haha - apologies for the whoosh moment :)
  • We are in free fall, much of our own making, and home form is abysmal. Expect nothing from Leicester or from a Billy Davis inspired Notts Forest. Future looks bleak and I will be pleasantly surprised if we stay up.
  • Just seen the goal. Absolute shocker from Hamer. Defended him at Palace, but that was terrible.
  • Im on a 9 game no loss streak of games i have attended and will be at the Valley next saturday, keep the faith lads. (not that i believe in nonsense like that) :-)

Are we in the bottom three of the form table? (Last 6 games, say)

  • Fuller off after 68 minutes, injured? Playing badly? Or Tactical? Haynes played 22 minutes any one hear his hamstrings ping?
  • It will be interesting to get comments from those at the game and not just from us armchair warriors
  • I must admit I was disappointed when Ric came off. I like him on the field because he's the one player who can turn a moment of magic from nothing and get a goal.
  • Time to give Jensen a go.

    And I don't mean Claus.
  • In Powell we trust
    But do the board?
My dads lost faith n that says it all!
  • Are we in the bottom three of the form table? (Last 6 games, say)

Form tables not yet updated after today's results but we were 7th before today (with 10 points). More likely to be 17th/18th (Leeds/Blackpool on 7 points) after today's result as we'll be replace a win and three points with a loss and no points.
  • We have a squad that is mid table Championship at very best. To last season's squad we have added Wilson and Fuller who have turned into squad regulars. Basically we have the same players at our disposal as we did last year. In my opinion our league position represents the quality of the players at Powell's disposal.
We have just lost to the team who are second and spent, I believe, around 4 or 5 million in the summer. We sit among a host of clubs who have better players, more money and more experienced managers. Do we really think we should be flying miles higher than Wolves or Bolton, Blackpool or Forest?
Look back at the threads and posts pre season. 'Consolidation' we said. 'Let's just survive' we said. 'Mid table will be a success' we said.
We have had some excellent results and some disappointing ones. That inconsistency is not only afflicting us but half the teams in the division.
We should be safe. It will not be a smooth journey but we need to hang in there, support the manager and the team and accept that, despite our relatively low position, the aim of this season is surely survival and the hope of investment in the squad in the summer.
  • That was hopeless. Hamer can't start next game

So overall for the season we have 9 teams below us, and at least 6 teams who are currently performing worse than us. So looking at it in glass half empty terms we won't go down.
  • Just seen the goal on the telly, shocking flap by Hamer.
