they actually opened the route to the station before they opened the route to the level crossing that we'd been told to take0
-
Wankers the lot of em0
-
That was a joke. Had to climb through fucking gardens to get back to my car. Police didn't have a clue0
-
Been going since 1974. A copper told me that the road closures were the club's decision. I honestly don't think I'll be going back again this season.0
-
Ob didn't have a clue, horses across the road, stopping you going down Charlton lane. Forcing you up coxmount rd and then pound park., then back onto Charlton lane. When ob realised this, they blocked the entrance to coxmount. Clueless.
It used to be you had you had to go away to be treated like shit, not anymore.0 -
Sounds like a complete cock up as predicted, but why would the club have any control over what streets people can use?alan dugdale said:Been going since 1974. A copper told me that the road closures were the club's decision. I honestly don't think I'll be going back again this season.

Really? What authority does a club have over the roads?alan dugdale said:Been going since 1974. A copper told me that the road closures were the club's decision. I honestly don't think I'll be going back again this season.

If they had, they'd have fixed the pot holes.0 -
Wasn't that bad to be honest0

That is exactly what I said to the copper. Old bill would have more c0

I'm still pissed off that it was allowed to happen.
Were the spanners out straight on trains? Were they fcuk0 -
I left on 90 mins when the board went up legged it past the oak (even though the on said it was blocked off) and was in the black wall tunnel within 5 mins of the end of the game I reckon
Never got away in the car so quick0 -
Walked towards Greenwich to see that police had let Millwall fans walk straight past the station towards the Valley Expeess coaches. Ridiculous.0
-
Presume this was a late addition to the plan?
"All home fans wishing to immediately head home will therefore exit via Harvey Gardens and turn right towards Charlton Lane."
Fortunately I had changed my plan and parked in a road behind Charlton House rather than down by Warspite Road, but those wanting to exit onto Woolwich Road had an unexpected problem to overcome.0 -
Old Bill at the end of Harvey Gardens said that the road down to the level crossing was blocked. Everyone walked down there anyway and lo and behold it wasn't blocked. Idiots.0

I thought it was totally madness and stupid that the club had to announce the kick off time change a day before the match. Some Charlton fans ether have to work in the morning or simply don't have the Internet, the club should have announced this at the last home game.
As for the way the police were run today, Millwall kept us in the ground for an hour so why on earth did we not do the same to them ffs!

What a total waste of money and resources. I walk passed the police horse road block into Coxmount road and back down to the crossing. I felt the helicoptor (how much does that cost?) was following me down lower road, I was wearing a red jacket and met a millwall supporter with his son wating outside the White Swan which was shut until 7pm which he thought was out of order, although it was open before the game and four Millwall supporters were being escorted by four policmen to the ground that was at 12.10. The annoucements over the tannoy made no mention of the direct route to the crossing being closed. Can anybody tell me who I can write to at the club voice my anger at being treated this way, I think the club/police were lucky that the home crowd was lower than normal for a Saturday home game with no more than 13000 home fans.

Basically there are 4 exits for home fans away from the ground.
Floyd Road
Ransom walk
Charlton Lane towards the level crossing
Charlton Lane up the hill
3 out the 4 were shut off to home fans.
Absolute joke0 -
2 out of 4 mate0
-
What ones then ? I saw the first three shut off0

I went the level crossing way no problems
Unless you stayed to the bitter end and they closed it after, I left when the board went up0 -
What other club or local Police treat home fans worse than the away fans? So, the plan changed, forcing home fans up Charlton Ln, then around via the village down Charlton Church Ln and past the station where all the Millwall fans would be. Yeah, great idea.
As its been said on here before by others, my love is currently being drained!0 -
Left on full time and it was closed with a row of police horses and a few hundred very angry people0
-
Fair enough looks like I had a result0
