We need 1 killer striker

At the end of the season we need to go out and get a proven championship goal scorer. Im a big fan of Kermorgant but haynes and fuller i think are abit too in consistent. Sometimes i see glimpses of there ability but they are far too in consistant. A shake up needs to happen get a goal scorer in powell. If you look at majority of championship teams they all have a recognised goal scoring forward. Something i think we are lacking. But i do trust powell think we have got a great manager lets hope we do some buisness early at the end of the season!

Keep beating that drum , but are the finances in place to deliver?

yup, but we'd need to sort out the supply line as well.

we don't create enough chances for the front man/men for my liking and am hoping that Mark Gower will improve that area for us.

back to the striker point, Rhodes was £8m, Wood possibly £2m, Austin, Murray will be worth millions and we haven't got anywhere near that kind of money. need to unearth a gem from somewhere.

    Doesn't everyone?

Keep reading about 18 year old wonder boy with Dulwich Hamlet Daniel Carr, why don't we try and give him a trial, before Arsenal or Liverpool get in?

We need a proper creator first, an Andy Reid. If we actually had a bit more bite, energy and cutting edge about us in midfield, Kermogant and or / Haynes etc would be able to score twice as many as they have this year which would be more than enough goals to have us challenging for the top 6.

Definatly top of the list creative midfielder and a striker. Might be 1 or 2 players out of contract at the end of the season we could look at. It said in the paper that 14 clubs are tracking that Daniel Carr, must have something special.

We have already given him a trial. He came on as sub in one of the U21s I went to see.The Club had a deal in place to sign the lad but according to the Dulwich Chairman Charlton wanted to re negotiate the deal.So he went on trial to Liverpool.Didnt see enough of him to give an opinion but has certainly got a bit of pace.

Problem is that 'Proven' goalscorers are like rocking horse shit. Its all well and good saying we need to snap one up, but 1. We dont have the money to compete in the transfer market at the moment 2. We dont have the money for wages to compete with other clubs 3. We arent sure of Championship football next season yet 4. We dont give good enough service to the forwards we do have.

A complete change in style of football and a bigger budget is needed before we are likely to see someone score 20+ goals at this level of football.

The wages seem to be every bit a problem as the fee, outside of the prem who can really afford the money these players command.

We could have Falcao up front, would it matter though? Our problem is a lack of creativity. If we can't get decent enough service to our current strikers, then why would splashing out on another one make any difference?

So a proven goalscorer and a wonderfully creative midfielder, anything else ? How about a rock of a centre back or a goalkeeper with cat l-like reflexes ?

Micheal Smith - 27 goals in the championship next season. Nailed on. FACT. Sell him to Spurs for £6.5m and the rest is history. Right, time to get off Football Manager and back to work...

Clubs without access to big funds have to strike it lucky when getting a striker who is capable of scoring regularly. We've had plenty of punts on young guns and as yet have not hit the jackpot. Whenever I've seen Smith I've liked him but I really don't see him going on to be prolific. We keep looking and hope that one of our youth team come good. Last one was Defoe.

There's a lad at Orient called Lisbie, he's only young, has potential....

There's a fella in Div 1 who has banged in 20 goals in 30 games..............name of Leon Clarke

I think you mean League 1 - Thats his level! We are in the Championship (at the moment).

The funny thing about Clarke is that if he'd never played for us before and it was rumoured in the press that we were chasing league one's leading scorer, we'd probably all be a bit excited and hoping he signed in the summer

Im hoping Smith turns into a Andy Hunt type forward. Not the quickest, but knows where the goal is.

Give Will Grigg ago. He has had a cracking season for Walsall. something like 20 goals. Might not be a proven goal scorer at championship. But with better service and on the cheap, this guy could be a great addition, Walsall will take 400-500k for him, anything under 1m for a championship gs you will be very lucky

Norwich and Southampton are after him.

Azeez, and Smith need to be used once we are safe from relegation. I would even call Mambo back from his loan once we are safe to see how he does.

Somehow I can't see Cousins making it.

All we have to do is give players a chance. A bit like what we did with Jenkinson, Solly and Harriott.

...or failing that a striker killer.

On the other hand we could play to the strengths rather than the weaknesses of Fuller and Haynes since that is what we have at the moment. Who rated Glenn Murray as a championship striker before this season? Apparently the official site shows Salim Kerkar as a striker!

    Now there was some player!
Looking at the sh** we come up against in this league like oh i don't know, say, millwall... just makes Jensen's tenure seem even longer ago than it was!
He would of had a great laugh up against those donkeys!

I was excited when we signed him. Imagine my disappointment!

Maybe we should be looking 'outside the box' in 1) Abroad 2) Players not getting in other teams - like Vardy at Leicester
