  • There'll be some fireworks at the last chance saloon tomorrow with about 30 seconds seperating 2nd and 5th place. After that it's the procession into Paris.
Just keeping my fingers crossed Quintana can stay in the top 3 for my bet to come in.

Betting according to oddschecker: Contador and Quintana are both 25/1 with Ladbrookes. They are offering e/w betting for top two only at 1/3 odds.
So if I put £1 e/w on both of them that's £4. Barring a real disaster one of them will come second so you'd get back £9.33.

If you're brave enough whack on £400 and get back £933.00. Rodriguez is the potential spanner in the works.
  • 66/1 for Richie Porte to win the stage tomorrow
  • It's a shame Porte had such a bad day early on or he would be in the top 5 GC. Although he's likely to be there at the finish with Froome, he's those odds for that just reason. Great rider, total respect for him.

Tomorrow should be a very interesting day. Can Quintana and Rodriguez move even higher?

    as expected
    yet again ... Good stuff
  • how about England bowling the convicts out tomorrow

    Westwood wining the Open

    and Froome winning

now that would be a cracking day.
  • Does the 20 seconds fits the crime?

A couple of days ago they cycled past the monument to Tommy Simpson, that should be enough of a warning about the dangers of not hydrating properly. If you make the punishment too severe then you risk something similar happening, yet on the other hand too light a punishment (a fine say) and any rider in trouble would send back a domestique to the team car and lose a few Euros. Another alternative would be to take a drink off a spectator - but you don't know where the water has come from and if that spectator had just taken it out of a stream...

Taking drinks from spectators isn't necessarily a bad thing:

  • Another brilliant stage today. Froome has all but got it in the bag, but I think the one for the future is Quintana. If he starts as Movistar's captain next year, he will take a lot of beating. I'm going to miss this race, but I've a feeling next year's could be even more interesting.

    Be like the Olympics again.

The tabloids will still be having the transfer saga with Rooney and co as their main headlines though.

You can add Mark Cavendish winning the last stage in the TdeF to the list...

  • Hard luck Cav ... Kittel very strong.

It's been a great Tour ...well done Chris Froome and the Sky team
  • I and the family Latimer have been in Paris, got to see the riders enter The Louvre on their way in, incredible, Mrs Lat shouted out ooooh it's the Tour de France, how exciting!
    Must have been good!
  • Very enjoyable, in an ideal world I guess the neutral would have liked the yellow jersey to change hands a bit more often but thats all credit to the Sky team.

My each way bets on Porte and Quintana netted me a £300 profit so happy enough with that. I won't get 28/1 on Quintana again next year for sure.
  • Well done Chris Froome and the Sky team, nice to see them all coming in together.

Hmmm, not sure what I'm going to do with my life now it's all over.
  • will he get a knighthood and be sports personality of the yr

will he get a knighthood and be sports personality of the yr

I doubt it. He's as British as Mo Farah, Kevin Petterson, Laura Robson etc. Whereas, Sir Bradley...........was born in Belgium! ;-)
  • Murray will walk SPOTY, especially if he wins the US Open again
  • poor old chris froome

wins the tdf twice (well you lot said if it weren't for him wiggins would not have won) and he will not even be a sir

  • Well done Fromedog.

Excellent last sentence to his speech on the podium.

Mo Farah is British, he was brought up here. Froome has English parents but was born and brought up in Kenya (then Sithifrica) and never visited the UK till he was 22. He is Kenyan.

Well done to him on an excellent performance borne from years of hard graft and dedication.

Ha ha, you're so right. So according to what lots of lifers were saying last year, perhaps Richie Porte should be in for a knighthood.
  • Murray will walk SPOTY, especially if he wins the US Open again

Probably - just a case of who comes 2nd and 3rd.

Well done Froome - wonder if Wiggins will come back next year to try and take his crown back?

Wiggins I doubt will ride a Grand Tour event again - at least not competitively.

    I was thinking that earlier.

Maybe jump over and join Cav?

At OPQS? They have the budget - but I think will be spending it on a lead out train for Cavendish. That's what they have lacked this season. They pretty much blew everything they had spare on Cavendish. But next season is another matter.
  • BMC you heard it first
  • He already owns part of the "Dream Team Honda Pro Cycling Team" a female cycling team. I can see him perhaps going down the team ownership route as David Millar has done with Garmin-Sharp, that would make sense as he's nearing the end of his career and perhaps is looking to do the next thing rather than just have one last pay day.
  • So much transfer news today, not just in football but also in cycling as...

OPQS Have signed Renshaw and Uran: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/cycling/23537954
