I would sooner say congratulations to Palace for promotion or Millwall for winning the FA Cup than say it too Gillingham!

Really? what an amazing comment from a Charlton fan.
Why? Because I hate Gillingscum more?
  • well done, get stuffed. Can't stand the pikey tossers.

Can't see any other threads on this, so let me be the first to congratulate Gillingham on their promotion to League One. I work with a few Gills fans and I know they'll be delighted.

I bet you're so glad posted this now ME14 ;-)
I fully expected it - some people are so bigotted. Those that profess to hate Gillingham have probably never even met anyone connected with the Club. Whilst I don't like some of Paul Scalley's comments about us, they are a Kent club and I would far rather a local Kent club be promoted than some team far away.

I do like Martin Allen, was spot on what he said about us/Powell on Late Kick Off the other week.

    What did he say ?

Just that Powell's done an amazing job here and were doing exactly what we needed to do this season, consolidate.

    He worded it better.
  • They mean nothing to me so i wont wish them well and i wont wish them bad things

    Nothing club

Scally is one no good gob shite prick though
  • I was born in Rochester, as my parents couldn't afford a house in Bexley. They moved us back when I was one and a half and as far as I know I've never been back, but congratulations Gillingham anyway.

Gilly gilly hessenthaler martinallen bogans by the Medway

    Fixed!

Can't think of many clubs with no obvious rivals in a similar division. Northampton Town maybe?

Oh yeah, Carlisle. Who do they hate?
  • I don't have any problem with Gillingham at all, they are just like Ebsfleet or Dartford to me. They are a small local club I want to see do well and I don't get any joy or sadness if they get thrashed or relegated.
  • fucking hate the Jills, fair taken the shine off of a good days sport...

  • Congrats gills :)
  • Congrats to Deon Burton.
  • fuck 'em
  • I've got no ill feelings towards Gillingham. It's like West Ham fans and Southend say...

  • Being Maidstone born........ fuck em.
  • hope they go bankrupt
  • Pleased for them.

I have a soft spot for them as I've lived that way for a long while and used to know a few of the players and management.
  • Fuck em.

As big a non entity as the likes of Dartford
  • Cant stand them as a Medway resident but fair play for a job well done as they have bossed that league from the start. Scally is a **** and a ***** though (no libel)
  • Live in sittingbourne there are almost as much gills fans here as charlton lol. I don't think much of gillingham either, I have always wished them well As localish club but my estimations of them went downhill when they were found guilty of racism. I have no time for racists. However for those fans that follow them religiously and take the pain and turmoil with the elation I congratulate them and wish them well.

Do Gillingham even have rivals? When's the last time they shared a division with Maidstone or Dover?

    Swindon's their main rival.
  • Congrats from me, I bear them no ill will.
  • Congratulations. I just can't find it in me to hate them. Never ever have been our rivals in any sense.

Me neither. Have never met a Gills fan in my life !

  • I used to share a house with a Gills fan years ago - he followed em away, did a fanzine, the lot. Lost touch. For him their main rivals were Maidstone, this was the short period when Maidstone were in the league. They even groundshared and the Gills fans would call Maidstone the "squatters".

Didn't the late Brian Moore support Gillingham?

He did indeed and was a very big fan of them. I am sure they named a fanzine after him too.

Brian Moore's Head Looks Uncannily Like London Planetarium

A cracking title and very good fanzine by all accounts

That's because we spirited them all away on the Valley Express, as Scally would say!
  • Really?

Vile little club run by a vile little man.
