  • This is crazy.

I can't believe how these news channels are approaching it
  • I tell thee now

    He dead
  • love the giant arrow pointing at the boat.

CNN are saying he is in a structure but are not allowed to say anymore. Fox saying he is in a boat and are showing photo of the boat.
  • Police scanner is saying he just sat up in the boat.
  • Ive met Robert Murat, honestly day before the andorra england game and I think the khan v prescott fight

Weirdo, yes, without a doubt but I think that was all he was guilty of. He told us he lived like a fugitive because of the vigilantism he always got because newspaper's decided he was a child catcher. Anyway, thats a strange story for another day

This is rubber necking tv at it's finest
  • CNN just saying a 'structure'. Not sure why they won't reveal the structure if fox are

Fox reporting that FBI interviewed the older brother 2 years ago at the request of a foreign government. Considering some of what has been reported about his recent on line activity this seems like a massive failure on the part of Homeland security!
  • the scanner thing is pretty good. police on it saying to move a van then a few seconds later you see the van move on fox news.
  • all sorts of shots going off..cant see the suspect coming out of this alive

flash bangs being used. whatever they are.
  • He won't come out alive meaning little answers which will lead to a good few conspiracy theories.

Hope he is captured, can't believe it's taken this amount of police swat etc to find one man
  • CNN just said they can now say he is in a boat!
  • Oops. They're closing down this frequency now.

And they've asked Fox to stop us all discussing it online:
  • CNN are so far behind it's unreal
  • You'd have thought he'd have chosen a better getaway vehicle than a boat on dry land. Not thought through properly, me thinks.
  • As a side note i really do dislike the media trend to find fault with actions of police/ authority.

He's in custody apparently! Also sounds like they're dealing with a suspicious package and treating it as a potential IED.

Agreed. This situation seems incredibly delicate - more so than I first realised. They discovered this guy in the boat about an hour ago now - and my gut reaction was; "What? They uncovered the boat and saw this guy in there.. an hour ago.. and this is still going on?".

Then it occurred to me that this guy could be a walking-talking-bomb; he could be surrounded by a hundred traps and it may actually be possible to take him alive anyway. I seriously don't envy anyone having to make decisions in that kind of situation, nor do I envy anyone having to be present.

The only fault in this so far is why on earth the police out there don't use encrypted communications; or have the option of using encryption. (IIRC it's to do with some law out there?) But it's pretty piss poor when people have been listening for over 12 hours (not at once I hope ;)) and they've had to resort to warning eachother 'Watch your mic, Watch your mic, Watch your mic, Watch your mic, We've got an open mic, Watch your mic' and asking on Fox for people to stop tweeting..!

Probably in that hour a bit of "resisting arrest" was going on, don't think the bostonians take kindly to things like this.
  • Glad one of them has been captured alive. Finally can make sense of this whole event. Plus the families of the dead will be able to have some justice.
  • Yes, I think it was important to get one alive and get to the bottom of whether it was just them or whether others were involved.
  • Just woke up to hear they got the bastard. Get him over to Guantanamo and find out why the hell they did it.
  • Get the feeling he will talk and blame his brother for brain washing him and then be sentenced to death in death row and the appeal system keep him alive for years

well fair play to the American authorities, I was not expecting him to be taken alive, more shot to ribbons and decimated... at least they have someone to ask their questions as to why instead of just being left to guess and theories?
whether he will talk is another story but maybe him being the younger brother still alive could just be better for the people of boston in their search for answers than if it were his older brother?

glad its all over with no more injuries to innocent people.

It's a scary thought thinking about how someone my age has the balls to a sick act like he did. Chilling !
