  • Well done Ian Bell
  • Declare with a 300 lead ?
  • With the luck Broad's having I think we should consider opening the bowling with him :-)
  • Declare with a 300 lead ?

Maybe not, as we've got loads of time. Maybe 350? Want them to play a few shots
  • Declare with a 300 lead ?

why? Nearly six sessions left in great weather? Might aswell go to the end
  • No point declaring unless we are still batting at tea, which is unlikely. Give our bowlers a couple of hours tonight when its s bit cooler

I don't think we'll declare much before tea, as we always play it cautious. Tbh I can't see us still batting by then in any case.
  • This time next week will be at Lords - can't wait - cheers sonic

    England lead by 304 369-7
  • Bell c Haddin b Starc 109

    371-8 lead by 306
  • super innings from Ian Bell, it should be a match winning one
  • A few more would be nice if the tail can wag.

300 plus is a decent target but there is plenty of time, with no threat of rain, and the pitch seems benign still.
  • not sure 310 is going to be enough to be honest

    Eng 375-9 lead by 310

    Anderson c Hughes b Siddle 0

    England 375 all out

    Aussies need 311 to win
  • Weather set fair, think the Aussies will fancy that....

300+ has only ever been successfully chased ten times in test cricket....

  • Down to Jimmy and Swann now.

Michael Holding makes a good point saying Ramdin got fined/banned for claiming the catch that had gone on the floor and the Broad incident is surely "not in the spirit of the game" either

They're very different situations. Ramdin deliberately misled the umpire whilst broad was just waiting for the umpire's decision. I don't see broad as being not in the spirit of the game, you wait for the umpire's decision and you leave the field of play immediately if given out and carry on if not out.

Nice to hear the press in oz are whinging. Bloody whinging Aussies, what goes around comes around. They created this culture in world cricket and now they don't like it when they're not good enough to get away with it.

    It's been an odd game!

    Still think we'll win though.
  • Weather for tomorrow is low cloud and 90% humidity, ball will be swinging. They give a little cloud cover this afternoon so aus really need to get a flyer whilst the sun is out.

Records are there to be broken. After what we've already seen in this test, it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if the Aussies made history and chased this down
  • Now near enough the equivalent of a 250 run target as they have all their wickets in hand and pass 50 without loss. Highlights how poor we were in our first innings.
  • We were very poor first innings but so were they until Agar came in.

Not looking good for us here. Aussies 81-0
  • Please be out...
  • Yes!
  • Come on England! Take one take two....
