No clashes with games at The Valley so thought I'd post this now. Anyone wanting to catch some crucial end of season non league action...
The Kent League title looks like it will go down to the wire, between Erith & Belvedere and Crayford-based VCD Athletic. VCD are the form team of the two and have the marginally easier run-in, the Deres have wobbled in recent weeks but bounced back to win their last two.
Each with 4 games left, the 'Deres' are 2 points ahead with a superior goal difference. Deres remaining games are at home to FA Vase finalists Tunbridge Wells tonight (at Park View Road, we share with Welling united), Whytleleafe away on Thursday, Lordswood away on Saturday and Greenwich Borough at home next Tuesday. On the same days VCD are away to Fisher (who share with Dulwich), away to Beckenham Town, home to Corinthian and away to Lordswood.
The winner of the Kent League secures promotion to the Ryman League. 2nd place might be good enough due to Ryman League restructuring at the end of this season, but nothing is guaranteed.

The train stops on the Woolwich/Greenwich line from Erith to Charlton
:-)
Bexley Borough play behind Crook Log now.
Deres still lead by 2 points with a goal difference of +57, VCD +56.
Three games each remaining.
Phoenix luckily got their ground done in time to be promoted into it but only Ashford have the facilities in the Invicta league to go up as well id imagine.
+ Rochester may not get the required ground grading for next season, so could be demoted.
+ Greenwich Boro are on the move again, so they may or may not get the required ground grading for next season.
A problem the Kent League has had in recent years is that clubs who have gone up - e.g. Maidstone, Herne Bay, Whitstable, Faversham, Hythe, Thamesmead - haven't been replaced with many other Kent teams being relegated back into the Kent League. The only recent relegations into the Kent League have been the Deres (2005), VCD (demoted due to ground regs in 2011) and Whyteleaf last year.
Lots of different teams in there since I played back in the late 80's (Winstonlead I think it was called then). Big teams then were Alma Swanley all the Coastal teams, including Sheppey United and Sittingbourne. Dere's were always a Southern League side.
Sittingbourne - another team that's gone up and stayed up. Ramsgate were in there too. Slade Green also folded 4 years ago - another team gone.
The Deres dropped out the Southern League in 2005 - an ineligible player secured a points deduction and relegation.
His son Joe is manager of Cray Valley. Think he's only about 23.
