Rooney is decent, but not the player he thinks he is nor the player he should be for the potential he had or the salary he earns.
Doesn't like Moyes though does he? Maybe he'll be off to Tottenham in a swap for Bale as there won't be may of the top European clubs queuing up for him.

Not true. Rooney and Moyes are ok and Moyes taking over might be a reason for Rooney to stay, IMO. SAF didn't know where to play Rooney. However, if United can cash in on Rooney then they should, a la Ronaldo.
Manchester United has always had a deserved reputation for playing attacking, cavalier football. Under the more pragmatic Moyes we may see a more round headed approach. He will retain attacking flair but not at the expense of a more solid defence. European experience shows that attack attack attack does not win trophies, attack defend defend attack does. Jagielka and Baines as well as Fellaini could well end up at OT over the next few months. Everton need the money, Man U need the reinforcements. Rooney will stay and become more of a Bobby Charlton like midfielder than out and out attacker
If I was a United fan I would want the club to get rid of Rooney. OK almost all modern-day footballers are pure mercenaries, but he has shown utter contempt for the club that payed £27 million quid for him as an 18 year old and pays him £200k per week not once, but twice.
First he complains about a lack of talent in the team and then he cries when said talent arrives and, lo and behold, is better than he is. Jog on.
Cash in while there's still some equity to be tapped and move on.

I agree, there are now better players out there who would jump at the chance to play for United, flog him to PSG, they're mad enough to cough up.

It's going to be very strange seeing Moyes in a Man Utd track suit. 6 years is very interesting, looks like he will get a very lengthy probabtion period.

Haha
Has he? They're a very good side right now (at least in Britain - they're weaker when compared to Europe's best) but there are some key but ageing players that are going to need to be replaced sooner rather than later, Rooney wants away and although they have some talented young players in defence, their midfield looks old and lacking in depth.
I think a large part of why he's quiting now is he knows another rebuild is due soon and he doesn't want to be starting it at his age, so he's leaving on a high now .
David Moyes has now been confirmed as the new Manchester United manager. I really hope that Everton make their new manager Alan Curbishley, he so deserves a new role.

I'm not sure if you've quoted the right post? I think he's retiring as he's 71. Moyes will be given time as it's a hell of an act to follow.
Fergie has left them in such a strong position even Ron Manager would do well up there!
Fergie isn't stupid, he knows the times right to go especially with Mourinho coming back.
Scholes retiring, Giggs nearly 40, Rooney wants away, Rio not getting any younger and unable to play 3 games in a week, Vidic injury prone, Valencia out of form and players like Nani and Anderson seemingly not interested any more. Yes they have some good young players but just how good are Smalling, Jones, Rafael, Cleverly and Welbeck?
I think we're about to see just how good Fergie was at getting the best out of his players.

Anyway reckon its a decent enough choice - least Moyes will win at Old Trafford now.
Something he didn't quite manage with Everton.
Shocker!
Is this the Liverpool's fans third wish?

Bilic at 33-1 is an interesting outsider, but think it may well be Martinez if/when Wigan go down.
And likewise Martinez would deserve the Everton job and would be a good fit there.
