I'm on Niquitin minis at the moment. Thought about an e-cig but I wanted to get out of the hand-to-mouth habit as well. They're horrible and give me a bit of heartburn but they do the trick. Struggling tho and Mrs AUN is getting pissed off with my narky self. Good luck mate.
Exactly. So do whatever you need to do, and works best for you, to get your through the first 1-2 weeks, whether that is patches, gum, ecigs, cold turkey etc
After that it is purely a mental battle.
Never tried ecigs so can't comment.
Keep telling yourself that if you are looking from a scientific point of view, your nicotine levels are falling every single day, so the actual chemical impact and requirement is less than what it was yesterday. And you got through yesterday, so there is no reason that today should not be easier.

Don't wanna worry you AUN pal, but ain't Niquitin got extracts of rabbit anal gland in it?
I found them crap. They do work short term but I found I was puffing on them more frequently and in times/places I wouldn't normally smoke. As time went on I found I was trying to inhale deeper as I was missing a decent hit. Also by using one of these things you never get out of the habit of smoking as you are still smoking as normal but with a plastic thing.
Quit for 2 years now - hardest thing I have done and still get the 'urge' to light up. I used will power and made sure I actually wanted to give up for the right reasons, not just because things like "cannot afford it" etc...
Don't buty elites. They - and any other ecig that actually looks like a cigarette - are terrible. The battery is too small. They cost more money than proper ones too. Get an ego or similar from the internet.
Be aware that ecigs are not, generally, a way of giving up. They are a substitute for real cigarettes. They are much less harmful, taste better and don't stink but you will remain just as addicted to nicotine.
I switched to ecigs two years ago. I have no intention of ever going back to cigarettes but at the same time I feel no real need to give up ecigs.
quit 30 a day habit 9 months ago via ecigs, the ones you can buy in local shops are quite frankly, a waste of money. Do a little research on the forums
No wonder people think the cheap disposables are crap and that they don't work.
I don't cough Can run faster I don't stink my house don't stink my car don't stink Ive got more money My teeth and gums are way better I could go on
As long as they keep my away from the real fags then I am happy.
This is a bit of a specialist subject for me, so happy to help/advise if people want to ask.
My wife's been "smoking" sky cigs for nearly a year, because she enjoys the "motion" of smoking. As said, they keep you addicted to nicotine, but as far as I'm aware nicotine by itself isn't harmful. Plenty of obvious benefits, but I would say that all their advertising blurb says they are x% cheaper, someting like 50%. However, she spends the same amount on these as she did on real cigs.
In conclusion, you'll still be addicted to nicotine, but won't be inhaling all the other gunk, only water vapour.

So far i have picked the e cig up about 4 times taking no more than 4 or 5 pulls at a time it seems to be working i feel better and i aint grumpy like i was before i got it
I think it is mind over matter but it is working
I never thought it would be as easy as i am finding it
using a refillable evap cig and it dont feel like giving up and take great pleasure from having a puff anywhere. the smking ban was agreat insentiveto stop
I bought one of these purely so I can have a "smoke" in non smoking places. Always have it with me at the valley for a half-time puff (beats stinking out the bogs as others do).............
I'm going to try quitting yet again. I got a free Vype a while back and I liked it but apparently the full ones run out really quickly. Has anyone tried both Sky Cigs and E-lites? They seem to have the best ratings of the ones you see in newsagents. If it goes well I'll spend a bit more one a re-chargeable one.
