and frankly many teams are in a similar position to ours - if a team stops performing every time the board do less than than throw money at a side then more than 50% of teams in the league would stop playing.
Not throw money but it would be reasonable of them to expect a contract that runs more than 10 months. Imagine being part of a team that won the league with 101 points followed by 9th in a higher league next season and still not getting a new contract let alone a salary hike. Hardly very motivating...
Fairly sure most players would of got a pay rise with promotion, even without one, if their current contracts do not motivate them, they should not have signed them.
I think it more that we rely on being tight and the defence isn't at the right level yet - that means if you plonk the ball in there enough we'll score for you if you can't. I think this will improve as we have some good players in defence but probably need better midfield to support them. Gower is not the right player for us IMO. Stephens doesn't want to be here? The way we have to play in these circumstances is a bit more positively - Cort on for Dervitte or Morro to give us a set piece threat on a windy day and Cousins on for Gower to give us some energy!
We are a bit rubbish really aren't we? The optimism of some on this board saying we are far too good to go down and we will be fine is surely long gone now. We are utter pants. End of.
Simply have to go out and fight fight fight their hearts out rather than rolling over like the first half sounds like. I dont think anyone is beyong criticism at the moment. Board, players and CP. Utter pants.
I hope Chris Powell is cracking them with a wet towel at ht and them screaming "thank you boss I will do better in the second half please may I have another".
going down simply not an option...and bonkers considering how we finished last season... we have to rally round next Saturday... and obviously 2nd half if we can
Well folks. By my reckoning that was a p*ss poor half from us. Not just the wind, but our whole mindset, and effort. I can't wait for pritch to return if only for his workrate.

"I don't care what happens in the board room, I'm only interested in performances on the pitch"
Like it not the two are linked and we are now seeing the consequences of not refreshing the squad.
Powell wanted and we bid for Quinn and Aluko last summer. We couldn't get either so both went to Hull and Hull went up.
This summer we missed out on Judge.
Still, this games not up yet.
1 - 1
Bit early in the season for 'I told you so' don't you think?
Nope.........I said we would be relegated this season and nothing I have seen or heard over the last 3 games has made me want to change my mind. As a squad we are weaker than last season and we could have easily gone down then. You aren't going to win games if you don't create chances for the strikers or have a shot.

We have been overrun with a defensive midfield. Image what would be happening if we had gone with two wingers?
because 99% of you slagged Green off last week !
It would be even worse with all 3 of Stephens, Gower and Green slouching around doing not very much....

Looks like Cort & Cousins are coming on. Not surprised, we've not really been in this so far! #cafc
