I dont follow the logic that Lib Dems are simply power hungry power grabbers. Which party in its right mind doesnt want power. I think I would have been more annoyed if I had voted for them and they made no efforts at all to be able to try and push they things they promoted in the manifesto. Whether they have been successful or not is another matter.
At the end of the day there is no point in them existing if they dont try and get power and pursue their policies. Its like just being in the race to sit and snipe from the sidelines and not get anything that you want done at all.

Except, of course, he is. As evidenced by his previous membership of the Labour Party and then he joined the Social Democrats! As for talking sense: well his so-called mansion tax idea was pretty ludicrous. In London and the South East "mansion" would have actually been either terraced, semi-detached or apartment or, in one case, ex-council flat. Bonkers.
Do you really think Labour is socialist? That died out in the late 50s with Gaitskell and then Wilson in the 60s.
If he was socialist he'd have stayed with Labour to fight for socialism there or joined an alternative socialist group. He was then a social democrat which is not a socialist.
