It was one of those finals where fear of messing up held most players back. I was hoping BW would stay down so Dorking could get some revenge, and it's a shame that idiot in the Maidstone goal is going to be about next season.1

Scunthorpe are back in the National League after beating Chester 2-1 AET in the NLN, having lost to Boston at this same stage of the season a year ago.
Ended up playing 10-mins of injury time at the end of ET as a few fans started the pitch invasion slightly prematurely, and the referee wouldn't restart until they got back over into the stand.1 -
Thought the Scunthorpe one was a good game.
Very well taken Boreham goal separated the two in the other one.
Then again they had a lot of shooting practice against Welling.0 -

Adam Murray leaves Eastbourne Borough to join Kidderminster.0 -
I wonder if he'll continue his religious stuff there. Don't think it was too popular with the players at EB.0

The NL playoff semis are this week, with the final at Wembley on the 1st June, making it the last game of the domestic season. Indeed it's the day after the Champions League final, so really late.0

They spent a fortune. Ironically the ones who couldn’t get a game and went on loan to Welling looked handy.
That was until they caught Wellingitus0 -
They started in their first game away at WSM where Welling won 1-4 with them linking up very well.

I Heard Murray would make his players go down the beach to pray and stuff like that. Which is probably less of an issue when things are going well.0 -
Oldham win 3-0 at York to reach the National League Final & will play either Forest Green or Southend in the final.
Oldham finished 23 points behind York in the table.

96 points, yet York miss out, whereas in L2, Bradford went up automatically with 78.3 -
Southend could end up being promoted despite finishing 28 points behind the team that finished second.0

York supporters must feel gutted. The problem with the play-off system is that it is often the team with late form that sneaks into late qualification and has the momentum to win overall. Oldham beat Halifax in the previous round 4-0 so they are clearly the form team. York led the table earlier in the season, I think, and may be flagging. So while we are told that the football season is a marathon not a sprint, it sometimes appears that teams with a sprint finish can overtake the long distance runners. Is 96 points the highest total ever achieved in the top five divisions by a team not to win promotion?1

The play-offs are fantastic for football, at whatever level.Without the play-offs so many teams would have nothing to play for in the remaining six weeks or so of the season. The play-offs and the prospects of, get fans through the turnstiles.

Oldham v Southend final. Should be a pretty big crowd at Wembley for that, both ex-league clubs with good support.2

Will be great to see Oldham or Southend back in the Football League.4
