No real surprise. The idiots have never gone away, they have just found themselves at the less policed/stewarded end of the football ladder. This, and the fact that they're from Cumbria!!
Shouldn't be hard to find from those photos (they probably didn't expect decent cameramen either). A couple look like were struggling to get across the pitch anyway!
So you're saying none of them are Atherstone fans, they're all Birmingham City, Coventry City and Nuneaton fans who now follow Atherstone for a row?
Wasn't saying that at all. What wouldn't surprise me would be individuals who may have found their place in the non-league scene, possibly after banning orders from league clubs as mentioned above. Some people still, obviously, look for something more from their day at football than just supporting their club and it looks like the non-league is a place they can find this.
"Maidstone United’s first game on their return to the Ryman League Premier Division ended with crowd trouble."
"There had been some verbal altercations but no crimes were reported and no arrests made.”
Both of these statements cannot be true, unless the definition of "crowd trouble" now includes "verbal altercations" - in which case there is crowd trouble at just about every game.
There was (actual) trouble in the stands. It went on for few mins. You could clearly see punches being thrown from where we were down the side. Stewards were out there depth (not surprisingly) as it was a rare occurance down there.
Wealdstone had a lot of handy looking older lads and were very pissed and in your face. You could just see that one little spark would see it go and a beer being chucked over someone was that spark. Most the Maidstone in that stand are gobby kids who would not have been use to that response to their 'banter' and Wealdstone took advantage.
What they didn't know was that Maidstone attract a lot of handy lads too who whilst not looking for trouble will stand up to bullys larging it,, hence the shock they got after the game.
Why would a club like Maidstone, attracting around 2,000 per game, not have seggregation?
They've got a weird bunch of supporters as well. Dunno what goes on the otherside of that Medway river.
Cos in this league the avg away support is about 20 and 99 times out of 100 there is no issue. On Sat extra police were drafted in cos Borham Wood have a bit of a rep, esp after the Wealdstone incident. In the end I think they must have brought 10 maximum. Segregating every game would be ott but they will consider it if the need arises in future.

Danny ;-)
So, basically, Toby's called it on thinking they could take liberties. Caps, mobiles, Stone Island jumpers all at market. Comes on top. Handbags, shoeings, claret everywhere, geezers missing railings, lumps on the cannister. Result. Sweeeeet.

Sounds super exciting! Lucky we've got our own roving football hooligan reporter giving us the SP - I'd have been double pissed off if I hadn't known it was 'active' in the non leagues, and that any number of clubs can call on some 'pretty handy lads' if the situation arises.
Can there really be anybody that is actually interested in this shit any more?
The eighties called - they want their subculture back.
Why you reading it then Leroy? I'm not involved in any way. Never have been, never will be but I know what goes on. On a thread about it I thought I could add some truth.
You're not involved in it in any way, yet pretty much every post you make here is about it. It's bizarre, thats all. I didn't know hooliganism was a spectator sport.

I'm the same with sex....
You liar. I've never once seen you post about sex...

Yes that's right. It's something I know about and have an interest in, so when I see people making incorrect assumptions etc I offer my opinion. That's all - if there were no threads on it I would never comment on it.
Maybe we should set aside a separate forum where people who are 'into' that can swap stories, make vague posts about former 'faces' and trade in old dvds of The Firm and Jekyll Stone Island gear then?
I don't think the demand would warrant it Leroy. Never seen any hooligan dvd or worn Stone Island (So 90's) Hopefully no one will start another thread on the subject then we'll all be okay.

Tbf to The Organiser there have been plenty of threads about 'the good old days' on here lately and they've been really popular, so I'm not sure why he's getting stick for this.

For someone who admits they have no clue about the topic, why bother with reading about it & digging people out about it?
Hooliganism is probably more of a spectactor sport nowdays than it ever has been!!
Plenty of armchair hooligans who read the countless books that have been published, have watched the films, try to wear the clobber, use language picked up from football factory and go to games looking aggressive and flap their arms about giving it the "come on then" whilst walking backwards or from behind the police, or even worse, getting the cameras out at the first opportunity and filming little bits of trouble to show their mates on youtube.

Leroy, whatever you do, don't watch this. It might tip you over the edge.

What will we do, if they bring all 10 ?
Proper Moody Boat was our catchphrase for about six months.
