Speaking with a group of Dads of our young academy sides, (it was when the Luton manager Jones was coach of under 21's)
the consenus was that the 3 best prospects were Nick Pope (who joined CAFC at about 16) Joe Gomez who was only 14 or 15 but already playing for U18 and Tareiq Holmes-Dennis, who was impressing as a left back or left midfield.
Joe and Nick are full England Internationals and unlucky Tareiq has to quit at 24.

Good luck Tarique in whatever you do next. Such a shame.2

Must be traumatic. Really balanced and honest statement; if that's a sign of his thoughtfulness and resilience then I've no doubt he will make the most out of his professional life.1

Thats a shame. Maybe he could come back home and get involved with the yoof, if that's the kind of thing he wants to do? Seems like a very grounded young fella. Good luck either way THD, I'm sure he'll be a success at whatever he wants to do next.0

Wonder if the club can find a role for him working with the academy? Thought he was going to make big strides in the game when he first broke through.1

Shame. Hope his luck changes.0

A decent statement that, nice that he acknowledged Avory and Euell
There does seem to have been an injury curse on a few of our recent and former LBs. Basey, Wiggins, Youga and Page all retiring early, or having massively blighted careers at Charlton, while THD picked up a career ending injury not long after leaving us0
