    Platini's proposal is for 40 teams split into 8 groups of 5. Top two in each group through to the last 16, same as now.

    Just adds an extra group game for everyone, that's it. It'll basically mean more dead games towards the end of the group stages.

    & it'd be a rubbish deal for the fifth team in each group that has to miss out the final round of fixtures.

    The trouble is you can Roy Hodgson saying now "There are no easy games in the World Cup. Cape Verde will be very hard to break down etc....."
