Alan Knight, Daniels, McLaughlin, Symons, Chamberlain, Agnew, Neil, Paul Walsh, Guy Whittingham, and somebody. " And it becomes the perfect start..." in the seventh minute.
And Stepney, Nichol, Albiston, Greenhoff B, Greenhoff J, McQueen, Macari, McIllroy, Pearson, Coppell, Hill, which was very popular at Eglinton Junior and was, shamefully, my favourite team when I was 10.

For some reason I can remember the 1964 F.A. cup winners - it may have been the first live television F.A. cup final I watched. Jim Standen John Bond Jack Burkett Eddie Bovington Ken Brown Bobby Moore Braybrooke Ronnie Boyce John Byrne Geoff Hurst John Sissons
The first Charlton team I can remember was against Sunderland in the early 1960s Mike Rose John Hewie Brian Kinsey Mike Bailey Haydock Tocknell Mike Kenning Roy Mathews Dennis Edwards Ron Saunders Len Glover
Here's something to test the memory of you older lifers. My first ever football match was at the valley and I think it was a schoolboy international played sometime in the late 1950's. My teacher Mr Rickson at Greenacres school coldharbour was selling tickets for the match. My dad took me and the crowd seemed huge for the game. I was hooked to the Valley and a lifelong Charlton Athletic supporter. I cannot remember any of the team but some of you lifers may have some recollection of the game.
The FA Cup losers of 1961 contained two future Reds. Leicester had to lose as Spurs were about to win Cup Finals in years that ended in 1. Chalmers broke his leg.
