Selby turned it on to late, Xintong will be disappointed he was 2-1 ahead against Yuelong and if he had taken that last frame it would be him through instead of Trump now
Massive frame coming up, Kyren Wilson will be concerned atm.
Incredible stuff from Ken Doherty, who would have thought at the start of this tournament that he would be in a position to be1 frame away from the final
Interesting that Kyren Wilson spoke in his interview about his brother helping him on tour over the past year or so(obviously not recently)
So thats Trump and Wilson that have seen a marked improvement in their game with their brothers help, other players will be quickly trying to get their brothers involved 🤣🤣
Is it a rule or just a change in the etiquette of the game? I don't mind a concession if for example there's one red left and one player has been playing for snookers and then his opponent pots the red. But I don't like the idea of a concession when someone is in the middle of a break.
Its an official rule change, commentators have mentioned it a few times now, one player at the table gets to snookers required and the other player just concedes.
I saw it a few times with King yesterday it wasnt even a case were he tried to play on for snookers on anything then just gave up.
That was one of the times, that time Wilsom had only potted 1 ball then King conceded but in an earlier frame Wilson had about a 30 break and King conceded.
When does it stop, can u concede if your opponent has 99 and u dont want them to get a century just to piss them off?
I remember it happening once many years ago and everyone commented on it being bad form. However, as you say, you could ruin someone's tournament by conceding at a inopportune moment. Would the referee stop you on 140 with just the black to go and your opponent, with the current highest break of the tournament at 146, concedes?
With the Champion of Champions starting tomorrow and now with Dave Gilbert filling the last slot I thought I would quickly put the weeks schedule in, obviously I wrote out the groups when the draw was done but not who was playing who
Monday
Neil Robertson v Jimmy White John Higgins v Ding Junhui
Tuesday
Judd Trump v Stuart Bingham Shaun Murphy v Dave Gilbert
Wednesday
Mark Selby v Luca Brecel Kyren Wilson v Stephen Maguire
Thursday
Ronnie O'Sullivan v Michael Holt Mark Allen v Scott Donaldson
Remember this format you have the 2 group matches in the afternoon best of 7s, then the winners come back in the evening for a place in the Semi Finals
Not sure if I have already said this but its live on ITV4 all week.
But for anyone interested who is unable to watch, as its a one table setup all the way through I will done a frame by frame update as well as the final score of each match
Break of 111 from Higgins, could have got a 145 and set a good target for the high break but came to straigt on final black and had to try to force it in to get onto the yellow and mised it, but he still takes a 2 frame lead
On a side note Stephen Hendry has just confirmed he has not entered The UK Championship.
So he still hasnt entered 1 event since his comeback, I know he said he was gonna practice and enter when he felt ready, but he only got a 2 year wildcard tourcard and has lost a quarter of that already prety much.
If he wasnt ready, then he should have waited until next year lol practiced this year then got the wildcard next year.
Unless he wants his first event to be the Scottish Open maybe which is directly after the UK Championship, I guess we will see
