I tried Rauch Bier for first time - disgusting. didnt like it at all.
That stuff is hard work - I quite like the first few mouthfuls, but I find it really hard to finish a bottle (Schlenkerla).  It just ends up being overpowering.
I’m the complete opposite, I fecking love the stuff. A visit to the Schlenkerla brewery pub is on my bucket list.

Cant stand lager normally and much prefer amber or pale ales. German lager is ok, but  smoked German lager is my bag. Happily drink it all day and year long (but don’t for obvious reasons, don’t worry).

Did you have to take out a 2nd mortgage?

My apologies if I'm repeating anything previously mentioned, I'm not on this thread much.

Shoutout to a local brewery near me in Suffolk called Drinkstone who brew good stuff which is worth trying if you're in the area and can find it somewhere. They use local malt and are a father and daughter enterprise....... good people. They do 6 or 7 ales, my favourite is Uncle Percy, a hoppy 4% pale ale.
When I was in there picking up the other day they had a family from London in........ they were tasting the beers and talking with the brewer about tweaking the recipe for their First Light beer which is 3.2%, lighter than Percy and fruity/hoppy...... they wanted it for their daughters wedding this summer but wanted it more citrusy....... and with the bride and groom on the bottle label. They seemed very happy...... but then they had been in there tasting the beers for more than a little while!

On another note, our local community pub has just opened and has Jubel lager on tap, the peach one. Very fruity and quite 'sweet' tasting, lovely and refreshing when it's a bit hot in the pub garden. I was told Jubel do a few other fruity flavours too but I've not tried them. Despite the foreign sounding name, I believe it's brewed in Dorset.

Jubel Peach is the best one but the Lime one which came out a few weeks ago is very nice too!

Mango is good also, but grapefruit, orange and Lemon ones arent for me.
