A LANDSLIDE at Barnehurst has caused disruption on county-bound Southeastern services this morning (Jan 9).
Services between Kidbrooke and Barnehurst are blocked with some diverting via Sidcup and Woolwich or cancelled or delayed at short notice.
Passengers that require stations via Bexleyheath in the country-bound direction are advised to travel to Dartford via the Sidcup or Woolwich lines and travel back up the Bexleyheath line.
The disruption is set to continue throughout the day.
London-bound trains are running normally and tickets are no longer being accepted on local buses.
A Southeastern spokesman said: "An estimate for the resumption of normal services will be provided as soon as the problem has been fully assessed."
Diverted down the Sidcup Line? Whatever next, we're a bit fussy on this line don't you know!
Best get my window seat on the 17.10!
We are indeed. We don't want that riff raff on our line do we m_a_m?
Have they returned your bridge yet at New Eltham?
Kick' em off at Lewisham and put them on a 321,I say. Hey, we got a 12 carriage train this morning!! No free seats, but loads more people crammed in there.
No sign of the bridge so far, but lots of digging going on, so unless they strike oil I suspect it won't be long.
I do feel sorry for the Bexleyheath Line peeps, but it is a proven fact that during a time of crisis, it is always the poor and lower classes who suffer the most.
Perhaps if they are having to get our glorious Sidcup line for a change you should bring your shoe shine box with you and earn a few extra pennies.....
