It's not rained in the pitch for days why not inspect it yesterday! Bloody amateurish!

Think I'll leave you all to wallow.

Bored are we Off it - fancy and afternoon of being a Wum ? Give it a rest .
    What you on about?

So the games off. It's disappointing - particularly if you brought your long lens down and you've got nothing to snap - but some of the comments on here are laughable.

If you think that's me being a WUM then you need to get out more. Go to Greenwich, plenty to snap there.
  • It's always the refs fault

For the club not to think it could potentially be called off is a bad call by someone

If this was any other club we'd be saying how pathetic a club they are , well we're a joke club at this moment in time
  • Maybe the referee's decision is a joke.
  • Heavy and unplayable apparently

I'm not even in the country but if the weather has been as I understand it, and a dome on top too, it is hard to disagree.

This makes me worry for the rest of the season.. Feel awful for all fans of both clubs who have had to travel today :(

And for those that don't think this is embarassing, lets look and see if any other football league games within 50 miles are cancelled today....

You're either thick or a WUM.

Oh behave and get some fucking perspective!
Not sure why you are so dismissive of this. As others have said the club should have been more forthcoming to the fans of both teams that the game was at least in some doubt. People have wasted a lot of money, time and effort and it's just not acceptable on any level. In addition to the obvious frustration of today I believe this pitch debacle could entirely feck up our season. In a relegation battle we don't need a fixture pile up putting even more pressure on.

It's not laughable, it is a ridiculous farce that considering the problems there have been, the first we are notified of an issue when we are playing a team from 250 miles away is two hours before ko, and its off.

If you can't see that then ill be surprised if you.find a single other person who agrees with you

Lucky I checked here. Half way to the ground and turning back now. Not happy.

Luckily I live near enough not to have left yet but I hadn't even considered it could be off. We must be heading for a fine.

Welling got their game on last night. Pitch was a little heavy but perfectly playable.

For those who don't live in south-east London, I can assure you there hasn't been a drop of rain here at least since day-break - bright sun all the way. If there was any doubt, why no inspection at 9 a.m. to save all those poor souls from the inconvenience and expense of travelling? Utterly disgraceful.

    *Censored by the thought police.
  • 1pm is too late for a pitch inspection they should have done this yesterday or early in morning before all the fans of both teams set off - that's another train fare I can barely afford down the drain!

I know we have drain problems but that is why we got the covers in.

Either the ref's decision is a joke in which case he should be sacked or Paddys team and the club are not up to it & somebody should go.

I said some of the comments on here were laughable, NOT the situation. Get it right.

    Nice abuse.
Brought it on yourself with the wind up mate.

  • We've all played on much worse than that, surely there can be an over ruling if both clubs call it playable?

So how long does it take to get a new drainage system installed and is it worth getting the Oxford game moved to an away fixture and postponing the next x amount of home games now?

Embarrassing seeing the noises coming out of the club about the pitch.

Whole pitch has to be dug up and relaid as far as I know - not something you should do mid-season. Maybe we have to consider a ground-share until the end of the season???
  • This is a joke, the club would have known yesterday. Had enough of defending the groundsman when in fact the pitch was awful last season they knew about the fault in the drainage system but instead thought they could get away it. Pathetic
