I'm not sure exactly what people are being asked to vote on for the BdO - if it's a straight "who was the best player this calendar year then maybe I'd just give it to Ronaldo for his performance(s) in the Sweden playoff.

Well you CAN argue, if you want. But it was pretty clear cut this year, even for a lot of ardent Messi fans (like me).
