President can you give us a rough breakdown of costs for it all including tickets for the stands and where did you stay?

Piggy, it was first time for me and my son , and we made a few 'mistakes' - the primary one being driving there which cost a fortune , what with French Motorway Tolls- i wholeheartedly suggest, if you are planning to go there, to NOT drive - else it will cost a fortune (unless you can split it 4+ ways)..

    So,
Ticket 200-400 quid, not cheap, but believe me, it is totally worth it.
Flight 200-300 (Can fly with Easyjet Gatwick to Nice (maybe you can get one from Manchester?, but BOOK EARLY else you will end up paying through the nose)
Hotel 80 per night - we stayed in a place called Cagnes-Sur-Mer which is just west of Nice. This was a good choice as we were able to get on the train to Monaco before the masses got on at Nice.

It was a totally brilliant weekend, surpassed any of my expectations, and am looking to go again next year. One of the things that i was very pleasanatly surpised with was the atmosphere - i thought it would be very snooty - but far from it - very relaxed. I also thought we would be ripped off for prices, but a Pint of beer at the Track was 6 euro's (prob less than London). It also felt like you could almost touch the cars as they went past, they were so close.

One of the other things we will change for next year is to NOT buy a ticket beforehand - as we found several people who were selling places in their apartments overlooking the track - for less money than a ticket. I know someone who did this, and said it was brilliant, with an apartment overlooking start/finish line.

So, for next year, i'm looking to spend..
    200 'ticket/apartment'
    200 flight
    100 Hotel

Hope this helps - if you have any liking of F1, then this will be a weekend you will never forget. Oh, and dont forget your ID (like i did) in order to get into Monte Carlo Casino!

Mate the Tolls do cost but are the best way to go not one traffic jam did I hit from Calais to baveno in Italy, we done all the Tolls through the mont Blanc tunnel, we left the UK at 2pm arrived in baveno by 4am their time, slept till midday took our job out from its location by 2pm and then headed back, we were back in enfield by 7am the following morning,

2 others that I know that were heading to the same venue, took the other roads away from the Tolls and went via the Swiss Alps and across, it was 200 miles or so shorter and they arrived at the venue at 730am and on the return didn't get back to London until 1300 even though they left before us,

They maybe costly but if we had roads like that here I'd pay every time, and we need to think about cost as it eats profits, but the road network from here to Italy if that's the way you wish to travel would be Tolls all the way imo

Agree the Tolls may be the best/only way (we had to, as we wanted to go from Heathrow to Nice via Mont Blanc Tunnel (dont ask!) in 1 day - arrived at 10pm) - however, they are expensive , circa 150 euros in total from Calais to Nice (and we gave up counting) and the tunnel was about 40 euros ! When we put it on sat nav not using tollls it came out as an extra 4/5 hours trip !
Most locals dont use the Toll roads coz they are too expensive hence why there are no jams.

General Admission tickets were €40 (£28) for qualifying on Saturday, and €70 (£50) for Sunday. You can probably see a good 40% of the track from the rock but not as close as the stand seats.
Given the number of people there I was surprised at how quickly the roads cleared after the race. We were back up on the main road in no time. Not sure how much it was to park a car in the area but a coach cost €145 a day! Agree re going on the toll roads unless you're really trying to keep costs down and time is less of an issue.
