    I went up to Blackburn by plane, or at least flew to Liverpool then got the coach to Blackburn.
    Also went to Boro' for the midweek cup by plane. It's the only way to see us in the cup. Beer at Gatwick, get to the ground/pub at a reasonable time, see lose, back on the plane south and in bed before the coaches have even got south of York.

    To be fair, a lot of the coaches got to Blackburn at a reasonable time. I was fortunate enough and me and my dad had time for a couple of pints in the pub.

    That was my experience at Blackburn. Had to sprint to the ground to make it for kick-off. Total shambles...

    There were dozens and dozens of coaches that got there in perfectly good time and the only problem we had getting a drink was getting served in the away pub.

    Coach travel isn't to everyone's taste, but no one is suggesting making it compulsory. The reality is that it's the only economical way of boosting the numbers. And we've taken large numbers by coach to dozens of games in the past, so it's nonsense to suggest it couldn't work on the basis that not everyone would use it.
    Never suggested its not gonna work, just agree with nss that coach travel is shit.

    Also I will never understand why when ever there is a big game people call for subsidised or free coach travel. If it is such a big game people should be making plans to go no matter what. You never here anyone asking for it when we play the likes of Wigan or Sheffield Wednesday in the league.

    Doesn't work for the league because the home club keeps all the gate money, so wouldn't make sense. In the past the club made a policy decision to spend the money, but I don't particularly think it should be doing that in this case. However, if it can boost numbers for this game at no significant cost, I think it's worth looking at.

    TBH it makes no difference to me whether there is subsidised coach travel or not, I go when I want and not usually by coach - but in reality it does to many people and that's why you get very large numbers when you run free/subsidised coaches, because you make it an event.

    Not a bad idea. The extra support could marginally improve the team's chances, which in itself should have some value to the club.

    V Sunderland at Wembley we won in front of possibly our biggest away support ever.

    Also won at Port Vale for the first of the free travel games.

    Like Airman's take on this and agree with Henry. I can't make it but if you can, get your ar*es up there and get behind the boys. The massive are not all that are they, c'mon and they are due some more grief and we are good on the road COYR.

    Alright Henry, not everything that gets written on an internet message board has to be 100% factually accurate.

    Wembley doesn't count anyway, neutral venue, fans all travelling of their own accord, so that was normal numbers for such an occasion. Vale we were in form and favourites to win anyway.

    If it makes you happier, taking extra fans makes no difference to the result.

    wanted a big team away for the money but this aint a bad draw - will get loads of tickets and I think we will sell the lot and have a great day out - that's what its all about - we need a bit of spark after a crap year or so / 6 years (with the exception of league 1 title) - I'm gonna round up a good 20 or so for this whether coach, train, minibus or car - this is winnable and has the makings of a great day out - come on, lets have it!!!!!!!!
