Too right! We play them...a game of 90 minutes... Focus, drive and quality - the reward comes later. We have both earned the right to compete for a place at...Mendonca In Asdas said:
I think your right Uboat , i hope we don't get all billy big boots , because we're playing a league 1 team in the next round , and if they do beat us give them the respect that they deserve.Uboat said:This all just confirms that football fans/people are basically the same wherever they're from. Sorry if that sounds too much like a Michael Jackson song.
I doubt a neutral would be able to say there was much difference between here and Owlstalk. We're not exactly gracious in defeat ( and I certainly include myself in that).

I personally like this comment:
"Hold on a Charlton fan on a Sheffield Wednesday forum, is there any Wednesday fans invading your forums? (probably not)
Just like when we were both in League One you crappy little fans on here.
Obsessed."

The OP fanclub would probably already be chipping in for a bronze statue to place outside the valley of said event.operationpig said:Take it with a pinch of salt guys, had we won at your gaff and Stuart Gray swung on the crossbar then I'm sure there would've been similar threads on here, what hasn't been mentioned is Powell has had a lot of nice words about him (even in defeat which is hard) yet you're just picking out the bad apples.

I agree with most teams, the MASSIVES just seem to have so many more bellends than any other club.Uboat said:This all just confirms that football fans/people are basically the same wherever they're from. Sorry if that sounds too much like a Michael Jackson song.

I have to say having a drum massively increases the morale of our support in my opinion.0

The joke is on them: I live in Woolwich Dockyard, so visiting Charlton is actually a step up.38

I lived on the Dockyard when St Domingo first opened in May 1979! Had a great view of the ferry and River.FreshHaddock said:The joke is on them: I live in Woolwich Dockyard, so visiting Charlton is actually a step up.1 -
Well they won't have to go there next season!Pelling1993 said:

I would have thought that they would have better things to discuss than the rate that our season tickets are selling4

As opposed to us, who are discussing what they are discussing on their chat room.Todds_right_hook said:I would have thought that they would have better things to discuss than the rate that our season tickets are selling35 -
I live in Hertfordshire but I have to say, Charlton is a million times less of a shit hole than some of these places. I used to have an office in Sheffield and went up there for a few days once a week. It was a decent enough place but we have the 02 the Thames, the Thames barrier, an IMAx and good shopping options. Of course Charlton is in the Royal Borough of Greenwhich with what that has to offer and Charlton Park. I accept parts of it may have been and may still be not the greatest, ditto Sheffield, but it is moving up year by year. I am not happy when you have Blackburn fans calling it a shit hole as well. Never have there been greater shit holes than Balckburn and Burnley. You feel the gloom when you get there and don't feel the release until you get out of there! Rant over!7

I think the decent sales for this game, is because lots fear it might be the last chance to visit this famous old ground.2

I actually visited Sheffield for work for the first time last year, and I have to say I kind of liked it.
I did a little pilgrimage to try and find the site of the original Warp Records store and had a little wander through the streets imagining what it had been like back in the early days of the UK rave scene when Sheffield Bleep Techno started the whole thing off.2 -

I ran a club in sheffield for a short while early 2000's - our sound system was hand made by one of the original warp crew, was impeccable sound!!FreshHaddock said:I actually visited Sheffield for work for the first time last year, and I have to say I kind of liked it.

Sheffield is a great city in general. Those comparing it to Charlton are slightly delusional tbh thinking its the old 'grim up north' down tuck mines kind of backwards old fashioned attitude, it certainly isn't.7 -
Maybe they will now discuss us, discussing them, discussing us.Stig said:

Must admit with the exception of their two football clubs, I really like Sheffield. I had many mates who went to Sheffield uni and being a quick trip, I spent many weekends partying over there. Then work took me there regularly and rather than commute the 30 or so miles, I’d stay over and enjoy Sheffields night life.3

I agree. Take the football out of it and Sheffield is a nice enough place...0

Sheffield is a great place to go for real football...United that is, not Wednesday. Its closer to the station, better pubs, better ground (not falling down around you for starters), much better atmosphere, real fans not just full of dickheads, you dont have to get a tram there (what is it Croydon ffs)? And i'm sure there's a few things I've missed too2

I seem to remember a Lot of conceited Wednesday fans, with bugger all humility, bet their loving this season….4

You're comparing the entire city of Sheffield to a small part of London there though. The area around Hillsborough is basically just a massive industrial estatescruffle said:

Yeah, made me nostalgic for the walks along the leafy boulevards from Charlton station to our groundPelling1993 said:

From my experience being there for our games, personally think Wednesday is way above United for ground and atmosphere.YTS1978 said:Sheffield is a great place to go for real football...United that is, not Wednesday.
