Agree, but someone told me that when the Man Utd tickets (qf 1994) went on sale the were lads at the front buying up 10-20 tickets per person, knew a few lads who couldn't get a ticket as they thought we would struggle to sell the full allocation of 10,000.....I'm sure Airman Brown would know.
Yes - they changed the rules during the day, which infuriated people in the queue. The club's starting assumption was that we wouldn't sell 10,500. But it was a different world then and that was more than the capacity of The Valley at the time!
  • I assume those of us who bought sheff wed tickets but sent them back after the postponement aren't entitled to buy on Friday? I think I'll be alright anyway, just having a mild panic about not being able to get tickets

Anybody know the ins and outs re insurance if you share the driving?

need to make sure you have fully comp cover to drive any car
Don't assume anything. Check your policy. Comp for you could be 3rd party if you drive another car but you may not be covered. Be warned.
  • So can anyone clarify that as a VG member but not a season ticket holder, I can buy on Friday? Or is it only if you are both?
  • I don't know how many we will sell but my phone will be lifted the second it hits 9am on Friday, and I'm not trying to say I'm going to Brixton.
  • £20 is a very fair price.

    you are good for friday
  • Me and my eldest will be there! His first away game since the "Nathan Prior" coach trip to Derby the year we got relegated from the Championship. He loved that "The Championship is upside down song"... still mentions it now!

the KO time is an absolute joke for London/SE (obviously the vast majority) based fans

Whats the big problem? Its 3 hours drive from Dartford to Sheffield. One would assume that most people either have a car or have access to a car.
really cant see what the issue is (and i've gotta come from a further 2 hours south)
We didn't leave Dartford until 4pm on Monday and were parked up at 7.25pm. There are quite a lot of roadworks on the M1 with lane restrictions, but given it's Sunday morning they shouldn't be too bad. Of course, not everyone starts from SE London. If i was driving from Ramsgate I'd leave at 6am.
Strange, checked out Google Maps and from Welling it is advising I take the M25, M11, A1/M1. Perhaps due to the lane restrictions? I suspect at 7am on a Sunday it won;t matter a great deal.

Just need to find a decent pub for breakfast and a few pre-match drinks. Off booze but think I may have to make an exception for this one !!!
Welling to Blackwall Tunnel then go for m11 to A1 best route took just over 3 hours to Doncaster.

Oddly I want to be upstairs

Me too. Haven't been there before and probably won't have the chance to again. The view will also be a lot better. Will be hard to get on the pitch though.
  • Can you buy by phone or do you have to physically go to the valley?

Can you buy by phone or do you have to physically go to the valley?

if you have a redcard you can (try to) buy over the phone on Friday .. IF you've bought tickets to 4 or more away games .. that is my interpretation

'Tickets are available from the Valley commercial centre in person or by calling 0871 226 1905.'

    Cheers

  • I'm going. Taking time off work. Spending money I don't have. Part and parcel of following this crazy team we call Charlton.
  • Seriously considering travelling up to Kent on the Saturday, seeing family and then jumping on a coach Sunday morning, £42 including ticket compared to the much higher train and hotel costs of my other plan.

Only worry is what time the coach would be dropping us back, as i need to be on the last ferry to the Isle of Wight the same night.

Anybody have an idea what sort of the time the Maidstone or Canterbury coaches would be aiming to arrive back Sunday evening?

Gretna, I *might* be able to help you on the way back with a lift to Portsmouth - not totally sure yet, but pm me and we can discuss.
  • I'm expecting Charlton to pay for my ticket. Being exiled don't get to many games but I have got to five so far this season W3 D2 L0 - had a ticket for Donny away but was sick and didn't go!

Ooh - just thought - I am going to Leicester on Saturday so that should spoil the record :-(

This Northern Addick is panicking, took my lad to his first game at Wednesday on Monday so will I get a ticket for Bramall Lane? - I bought two on turnstile so can I use these on Friday as 'evidence' over the phone, although the club wont have a record of this? Any advice??!!

Prob not, as they wont be on their system. but wouldnt fret as it sounds like there will lots for sale on 'general' from Monday.

Just when you read season tickets holders allowed upto 4 you start doing the maths! Just trying to get hold of the unc @eaststandmike to sort me out but he's away celebrating 50 years of marriage ;-)
  • Will be plenty of tickets for all who want to go. Simples.
  • Panic will set in if over 1000 are sold to-morrow.

I suspect 1k will be sold tomorrow but it'll slow down. It will reach general sale I'm sure.

I was there and it was first time i'd seen 'Charlton end' tickets on sale from touts outside a ground. One had 'our' tickets on sale at £200 and i think they were only £20-25 face value. I recall a few Utd in our end cheering when they scored and us singing 'get em out, get em out, get em out' and a few 'lively' Addicks going over to have words!

Well i'm not a season ticket or Valley Gold, but i did buy Wednesday tickets. Wonder if i qualify for buying friday. I have been to more than four away's but not all bought from Valley ticket office.

Yeah it's not arsenal or Chelsea away. It's two bob Sheffield Utd a league below us. A team from an inbred city

I am back now so calm down fella, I am not sure I should help you at all looking at your "50 years of marriage" joke but as you are family.
I will email you in a min with a few ideas of my plans and then we can take it from there.

I presume they would need to be purchased via your red card number or they have no way of recording it.
