  • Never understood why vips and valley gold get first pickings. Never forget the Gillingham away cup match when that policy led to an embarrasingly quiet away end full of flasks and blankets, and me having to buy a ticket in the home end. So they have more disposable income, so what, doesnt make them more important!
  • Maybe AFKA can post the numbers sold at end of day.
  • Already booked the hotel and sorted the travel up there on the Saturday.

If they don't go on general sale I'm f@cked
  • Think it would be fair IF regular away supporters had the SAME priority. To me they should be able to purchase before ST holders (most of which never go away) who are allowed to buy 4, for anyone!

Has improved from Prem days tho, when they didn't even bother with away stubs then, and it horribly diluted the support.

Still not been to Bramhall Lane.

Looking at the away fans guide, and our end - Looks like the upper is the place to be atmosphere-wise, not that many seats in the lower. But then what about the delirious on-pitch celebrations at the end? Not that it'll be a choice - will just depend on when you buy tickets I assume.

Prob more chance of standing in lower

Could be good, I'd like to think most people would stand for this, though, like Fulham Away.

Got our 8. They are being strict and want the Con numbers for everyone so be prepared.

Also if you key in you CL membership number you can jump the telephone queue.

i.e. Con numbers for two people who are eligible to buy tickets?
No, con numbers for all the people you are buying for as ST holders get a £5 discount. They need to have all the names and con numbers.

  • I would imagine that with 5300 tickets, anyone who wants a ticket will get one.

how long it take you to get through?
About 10 mins. I was 20th in the queue.

Once I got through all very fast and efficient, as always, despite their IT being down.
  • From 9am on Friday, February 28th season-ticket holders and Valley Gold members will be able to buy up to four tickets each.
    Just to clarify that

The lower tier also means being in the line of fire when the angry Blades invade the pitch after a last minute penalty gives us victory :-)

Cheers - Got mine now. Will PM you on something else.

2.1 The Club's supporters are allocated tickets for away league matches for which there is expected to be excess demand. The following groups will enjoy priority status:

Season-ticket holders who are Valley Gold members or VIPs; supporters who regularly attend away games and via recognised supporters' groups; remaining season-ticket holders and Valley Gold members; Red Card holders with an adequate purchase history who are not season-ticket holders.

These groups also enjoy priority status for away cup fixtures or those staged at neutral venues, but this is subject to variation dependent upon the allocation of tickets received.

  • Tickets booked, no wait either on the phone, bonus! Couldn't understand the guy particularly well, turns out he was eating a turkey, stuffing, cheese and mayo sarnie!
  • No offence to those that live up north but why should someone who lives up there and goes to see the local(ish) games to them (putting money in to others clubs coffers , cup games excepted) and doesn't have a Season Ticket at Charlton have priority for a big match over someone who puts a considerably larger amount of dough into Charlton

from today : 'Season-ticket holders and Valley Gold members with a purchase history of four or more away games this season will be able to buy up to the minimum purchased for each'.

so if you have been to four or more aways you can get one today. are there many that have done four away's or more but are not season ticket holders or VG?

  • you'll never please everyone when it comes to ticket allocation priority for 'big' games
  • I only go to a hand full of games a season so don't really have a leg to stand on. For the small price of £10 a month valley gold is an option though meaning you support the club and have a bit more of a priority... I'm sure even that will annoy people that plastics like myself would end up ahead of the queue :)

Hmm, possibly not many, but maybe more than you think. In any case if there aren't that many, all the more reason to be allowed. I suppose I'm looking it as we have what, about 9k of ST holders(?), and average away turnout to support the boys must surely be around 700!

I'm not an ST holder but have been to many home and away games this season. I am not allowed to buy til tomo, which is fine, as I'll go down there at 9am. I have no problem at all with VIPs and VG getting priority, just think ST holders with *no away history* being allowed to buy 4 each immediately after at the same time as Red Card holders who've been to Hudds, Hillsborough and other always is a little unfair.

Only a 'little' though. And anyone who wants one *will* get one somehow.
  • The issue for me is 4 tickets. Sure let a VG member or vip have priority for a ticket, but not for them AND family and friends who may never attend games and may not even support Charlton.
  • Rang up at 13.20. Phone answered immediately (after recorded message). Bought 4 Sheff U & 4 on the coach from Well Hall & 5 for Millwall. Con nos were req'd for Sheff U.

Call took 5 mins, start to finish. But I forgot to ask what tier.

Never understood why vips and valley gold get first pickings. Never forget the Gillingham away cup match when that policy led to an embarrasingly quiet away end full of flasks and blankets, and me having to buy a ticket in the home end. So they have more disposable income, so what, doesnt make them more important!

Should they get no benefits for generously helping to develop our academy then? Or helping out when we were in financial trouble?

Agreed WSS although I'm not sure I agree with immediate first priority on away tickets being given to people who could feasibly not have been to an away match all season. That could potentially leave a regular away traveller screwed over for a high demand and/or low allocation away match which I think is a little bit perverse, albeit it in practice very unlikely to actually occur.

Lucky we support a club who rarely sell out their away allocation. I have a few Chelsea and United mates who go all over the Europe and they tell me it's a sodding nightmare week in week out.
  • If I was to start paying into Valley Gold would it give me any priority even without too many away games / ST etc (out of interest)
