So those not season ticket holders or valley gold wont get tickets judging by those sold already but three mates of each season ticket holder / vg member can no matter who they support, typical charlton mess
But in nearly all cases that isn't the case. I bought 8 today as I had my own and my brothers VIP numbers. We are VIPs, VG, ST and we go away. All the others are ST holders but three of them are our kids so they aren't VIPs or VG. And they go away too.
The four ticket a person rule means that groups of friends/family can buy together. By definition those people are hard core committed fans ie they paid for a ST five years in advance. Priority for away tickets was part of the deal.
No system is perfect and some will always feel that they are left disadvantaged but please don't make up stuff about the three other tickets going to non-Charlton fans/plastics etc because you've had to wait 24 hours.
The rules are in place, they are clear, everyone can read them and they work well. As Shine say people can join VG. It cost less than a pint a week (£120 pa) and it helps the academy plus you get a chance to win some of it back.
VG members pay £10 to support the club and for a chance to win. Why reward them again with ticket priority for them and their mates. I give to scope and the air ambulance...i wouldnt expect something in return like first call on a bed or ride in the air ambulance
That's just how it is, you could always join instead of moaning ?
So I join and buy 4 and sell three to on Charlton mates or touts.... does that make it better?
If it stops you moaning then yes, crack on
LOL this Boiard doesnt change does it!
I'm in exactly the same boat as you, but it's too late for anything to change now. When we played Fulham away the allocations were exactly the same ie 4 per vg and season ticket, so I'm surprised people are so shocked its the same now.

If you feel that strongly why not bring it up with a FF rep or the Trust so that it can be brought up at their next meeting with the Club. By the way I think the allocation is on the high side but according to Henry you have to supply Con numbers for those you are buying for.

The con numbers are for the £15 tickets, nothing to do with who you intend to bring
Not quite sure why the VGolders are getting so much stick...I have been a member since 1989 since the first week of starting...i used to complain that it didnt mean anything when it came to prioritising.
As others have said its less that 1/2 a pint of beer a week in some pubs in london, get on board and then you will be in the same boat....I am proud my money goes to the academy and gives up players like cousins/poyet etc.
I also agree the 4 ticket rule is a bit excessive, i could have ordered 8 today but only booked 2 as my son (also a season ticket holder) - whos hasnt missed a home game since 1998 is coming with me. We were both at the oxfords and sheff wed - twice.

Well that is the other option ^ people with spare allocation purchasing for other lifers... but then you have the risk of buying strangers tickets on your account
I qualify for tomorrow, but the bird wants to come so I have to wait till Mondays general sale, if it gets silly tomorrow I'll have to tell her she can't come and I'll book mine tomorrow haha

This. Similar position:- got 3 tickets out of possible 8 allocation (1 each for self and brother (both VG + ST + aways) + 1 ticket for his son who is ST but too young for VG). The rules allow for this and I hope that VIP and VG+ST holders are sufficiently 'Charlton' that they would make sure that extra allocation goes to deserving fans and not touts/some bloke they drink with.
Wow! 1,037 sold already that is exciting! Itching for next Sunday already. Was there on Monday night and my brother is a season ticket holder so he'll be getting mine for me tomorrow, happy days. Pretty confident they will reach general sale, perhaps pushing 3k by Monday. Got a feeling we will come pretty close to 4.5k travelling up, not sure if we will sell out though. Hope we do!!!!
Frustrating ticket day, I have only two aways on my red card, all the rest were pay on the turnstiles. I have a wallet full of ticket stubs but the office will only except them in person at the valley, not much use from Shropshire. I did offer to send them with a cheque but not acceptable. Il just have to try again tomorrow as I did order my Wendy tickets via the box office. Fingers n toes crossed for tomorrow.
It's not a perfect system, and I can understand the perspective of those who think 4 tickets per is excessive. In our mixed group (8 people) of S/T holders, VG members & long-distance occasionals (i.e. northern-based, so go to aways but not many homes), we have one who, hand-on-heart, is a very occasional attendee.
But general consensus is that 5,000+ is sufficient for a Sunday game on TV, and everyone should get one - If come a week today we have sold out, and genuine fans are unable to go then i'd certainly reconsider where that particular ticket goes. It's a balancing act for the club - restrict it too much and we only take 3,500... Plus everyone would have more hassle buying the tickets, because there would be many more calls & transactions to process....
to be honest I don't think Sheff Utd at midday on a Sunday is enough of a draw for mates of mates who support others clubs to want to tag along we can be pretty sure all 5000 there will be genuine Addicks
My 4 were also all for S/T holders. I don't believe too many non Charlton supporting folk, will want to drag their arses out of bed before 6am, in order to schlep up to Sheffield by coach or car. It's not like it's the final v Man U at Wembley.
I'm confident all S/T holders will get a ticket. There's a 5300 allocation !
It seems only fair to have some sort of reward for those who are VIPs or VG members.
In the old days, one thing that annoyed me was that shareholders got no preferential treatment at all, and with the shares effectively being cancelled, it's not as if I was able to get my money back either!
<blockquote class="Quote" rel come on. if you wont a ticket your get one.get down early Monday first come easy. same as getting up to go on the day of game up at 05.30 driving up 2 boys and a friend.coyr coyr. score.0-2.
3 more bought. Still believe if you want one. You will get one. Reckon we will take the extra 700 but do not think we will sell them all. Great turnout and hopefully will see us on to victory.

Not all those sold will be as deserving as your group though.
I will get in somehow and will have less worry for the final as my mate has a box!

Anyway, anyone that wants a ticket will get one I'm quite sure.
But maybe I'm naive....
