Pretty much what Jonjo done. I'm sure when he signed his last contract with us, he had a pretty good idea he wouldn't be around to see it out (I'm sure Uncle can clarify this or shoot me down for being wrong). A major reason why he left the club with the affection and backing of the vast majority of fans................
He's a great player, definitely would fit in the Championship. It's probably best for his football to stay here, but his wallet might well be enhanced sitting on the bench as a backup at Premier teams.
He's mid champ standard now, will be a prem quality player in a year or two. Doubt he'll sign for us unless we stay up, and even then unlikely. Should have got his signed up before but I guess we only have the previous owners to blame there.
I'll enjoy his performances this season but not hold my breath that he'll be here for the start of the next.
The quote about him being "scared in possession" is one of the most baffling things I've read on here in a long time.
I've not seen a player so comfortable on the ball in a Charlton shirt in years.
I agree. He's happy to get the ball, never rushes, sizes up his options and will hang onto it if need be. Perhaps the person who made that remark meant Pritchard.
I heard he's signing a 3 yr deal this week, so we'll probably get 1 more year out of him (assuming we stay up)?
Won't agree or scoff at this, but the only place (to my knowledge) this has been said is on ITTV by Reams. He claims to have inside info on many matters within the club. I neither believe or dis-believe him, but I'm sure we'll find out soon enough...........
Everytime I see that disallowed goal, I still see nothing wrong with it. Yeah Morro bundled into Smithies, but only because he was being shoved by their No5 at the time............
It looks to me like the 'keeper bundles in to Morrison, not the other way round.
As good as Poyet is, he'd be silly to leave this summer. He won't be getting into any premier league teams midfield yet so would be wasting the next year or 2 of his career and would quite likely end up back in the championship on loan.
I guess it depends on whether he wants to play football or if he wants to increase his bank balance.
He was outstanding. He has one major attribute no other charlton player has (not many champ players have it either) and that is he has time on the ball. He knows what he is going to do with it before it comes to him. This guy has a special ability and will no doubt play at a very high level
If we stay up then my prediction for next season is that we are going to be better than mid championship side next season. Our new owner is loaded and quite possibly in a hurry aged 67. We have a lot of players going out of contract - I really hope we renew the top 5 or so and then use the network European and African scouting set up to find the best replacements we can. I would like if we also bought in some talent but I don't see this as part of the strategy based on what has happened so far. As I have posted before, Duchatelet has previous in recruiting good young players - take a look at Liege website. So I believe it is in Poyet's best interests to stay in the same shirt and in the same midfield... Cousins, Jackson Harriott and Wilson all around next season. But perhaps with better strikers and others to help. I am not saying he will play his way into the Premier league with us but you never know we might have a crack at the play offs?!

As Riga said in his Programme notes today... Weve the seventh best defense in the Division
If we can sort the fitness out with Wiggins, Solly and Hamer (who have been unfortunate to miss large periods this season) and maybe have stronger backups in their positions then we only really need to strengthen on the wings (Max Gradel possibly again?) and up front to become a serious play off threat
Definitely becoming a last minute favourite for some I reckon...
Maybe if he hasnt signed a Contract by then we should just give it to him to show how much he means to us
If he signs the Contract before the voting maybe that'll sway people to vote for him for commiting to the club when so many other big sides are sniffing around
Class - was a moment that said it all - I saw him look for options as the ball was in the air coming to him - before playing the ball to Wilson. Didn't miss a pass all evening. I would go as far to say the most exciting young player I can remember. He has to sign, it is the best for both parties - he needs to go when he is in a position to walk into a premiership side and another season with us will set him up nicely.
I remember how excited I was after Cousins made his full debut for us. Diego Poyet is on another level to anything we've ever produced - our academy is top, top drawer.
So what (sensible) conditions do we think Diego would want in order to sign a contract right now? 3-5 years? One of the highest paid at the club? Captaincy? Say we will build the team around him and Jordan?
On another note, what another great advert for our academy. We do produce excellent midfielders. I really, really hope he decides to have at least another season with us.

Give him a Mcdonalds advert and a 5 year contract.

Lets hope he cares about his football!

There is no inside track.

possibly another one on the way tonight....
WHEN we stay up, he could be the signing of the summer
